New B2601. Thanks for the advice!

My main concern was stability. Though wider, it's quite a bit taller than the BX I had previously borrowed.

But, I think the R4 tires must help quite a bit. They don't have any bobble/wobble (bwobble?), and I feel quite a bit more stable w/ this machine.

Also, per your advice I got the 5' box blade, which this machine handles - teeth down - no problem.

Floating bucket mode is amazing. Never seen that before.

Thanks for all the advice and helping me choose the model.

Got the tractor just in the nick of time, you're youngest will just about fit on your lap for another summer (maybe two). I only have mine on my lap for very flat/safe work and if I push back I can have her sit on the seat between my legs and get the belt across her and I. She can just barely fit on my lap now and sets her feet on the hump.

I won't scare you with the story, but even if the tractor is off, if someone hits a lever that operates a hydraulic line it can drop the implement. I drop my bucket and 3 point (usually box blade) when I'm done with the tractor just in case someone/thing hits the levers.

Hope yours as stingy on fuel as our B2601: 0.36 gph through to near 28 hours. WAY lower than the 3 JDs I had and almost as low as the small (12.5 kw) Isuzu.

please stop polluting the forum with this nonsense, you are not getting 14 hours of actual work per tank out of a B2601. Because you are putzing around your driveway at idle, does not mean 'facts'

Do not need comments like this. I'm using this tractor the same way as I did the 3 JDs. Its fuel usage is about half what the JDs used.

I have to agree on the fuel usage. Had an old Bolens H1502 and the 2601 hardly uses anything compared to it. Never thought I would care about amount I use but as the price of diesel goes up I'm glad to have it.

Kubotas seem to be good on fuel no matter what model, our R540 loader has a 6 gallon tank and runs for a long time on a tank.
