I realize this question has likely been answered many times in this forum, but I've been searching for a couple of hours and can't seem to get a clear answer. Anyway, I'm installing a Summit rear remote kit and have a question as to how to plumb it. I thought I was supposed to do the following:
1) remove the line that connects the power beyond (BY) port on the loader valve to the hydraulic block on the tractor;
2) run a line from the BY port on the loader valve to the P port on the rear remote; and
2) run a line from the T port on the rear remote to the hydraulic block on the tractor where the power beyond line was plumbed originally.

I'm second guessing myself because I read in the Land Pride installation instructions that the hydraulic should be connected to the P port and loader valve to the T.

Please advise and many thanks.

Your initial description is generally correct if you are using Summit solenoid valves. If you told us exactly what Summit kit you are installing I might offer a more definitive answer.

Dan - I acquired the universal rear remote, 2 spool valve (https://summit-hydraulics.com/produ...ct-tractors-two-spool-three-spool-four-spool/). I should confirm, I do not have a Land Pride setup; I just stumbled across the instructions for a 3rd function valve that they sell which caused me to question what I was doing. The instructions which came with the Summit valve provided no direction in this regard. Thanks again for your help.

I am familiar with the Landpride instructions. They are bizarre and I do not know why they have the port connections reversed. My guess is its a documentation error.

So, this is good to go?

Dan’s the man on this stuff, but I believe the T-line from the Rear Remote will instead be ending up in your case, Tee’d in at the lower-right port on the the hydraulic block. (Unless you go under the seat to use that tank port).

Afraid not Andy. The electric valves have an IN (P) and an OUT (T) port. When used like this in a open system power beyind loop the T port becomes the power beyond for the next device (in this case the 3pt) and there is no separate tank return. Exactly the same as the third function kits. In the case of rear remotes that has some unfortunate side effects.

Dan - thanks for the help. I spoke with summit about adding a rear remote and third function and their tech guy suggested I could combine the two with a 2 spool rear remote. 1 spool will be for stuff in the rear (dump wagon is about it) and the other spool is being plumbed to the front to run a grapple. The kit came with a 2 button joystick for the grapple and a rocker switch to run the spool for the rear. Hopefully this will work as intended.
