It's very dependent on material choice and how tuned your print processes are. With good layer adhesion and the right materials., the parts are quite strong. I have some parts in rather high stress use cases for 5+ years that have far exceeded by expectations.Print a spare.
It has been my experience (high school robotics competitions) that plastic 3D printing doesn't hold up well for high-stress parts like gears. Great for lots of other parts though.
