Very nicely done! I think that unit will give you years of service.

Those 3D printers sure fascinate me. Did the cad software you were showing come with the printer?

I used sketchup make 2017, which is free on the desktop. New version is still free, but web-based.

It has been my experience (high school robotics competitions) that plastic 3D printing doesn't hold up well for high-stress parts like gears. Great for lots of other parts though.

It's very dependent on material choice and how tuned your print processes are. With good layer adhesion and the right materials., the parts are quite strong. I have some parts in rather high stress use cases for 5+ years that have far exceeded by expectations.
