The B will do fine. I also echo why you're mowing so much? Mowing is for places where you need to drive over it regularly or play on it. Otherwise, mow some trails through it and then bush hog it every year or two to keep undesired stuff from growing there.
That’s what I did…when we bought the home (12 acres) the previous owner did a great job clearing the yard and he mowed it all. I started doing that too but after a few years, let some areas go wild with a few walking paths throughout. Cut my mowing time from 4-5 hours down to 2+ hours. More wildlife comes through now as well. I may well expand the wild area as I get older too! (Easier on the old bones)😂 if there was any way I could demo a B2601 just to try it on my hills, I would go the MMM route and forget the ZT if it handled it well.

If all you are doing is mowing and blowing, what is the 2601 going to do that the BX isn't already doing?

If you don't already have the snow blower, a front mount snowblower for the BX is going to be a lot less money than the 2601 plus a mower plus a blower.

Is it just that you are done with the backhoe? Park it and let it rot. That's free and still just as effective and a lot cheaper than buying the 2601.

OR sell it and suppose you only get $200 for it. Fine, that's $200 in your pocket and a boat anchor out of your way.

I use the BX for lots of things…you name it, it does it. I think the value is there especially now, to sell the whole package as there are few on the market and the norm is waiting for a loader for a year or more. I will only upgrade if there is a B in stock the way I want it. No hurry here. Luckily, there is a huge dealer here in NH that has shops all over the state.
I could keep the BX for years but who doesn’t like a new tractor to play with! 😂

Can't help but think, who doesn't like having two tractors to play with?

I bought my B series first, and the BX second. Would not want to be without either now, after nearly 20 years on average...

Consider keeping the BX and adding to it. What I did and never a regret...

Well, okay, you've got me there, but then, now we know the real reason for your question. You are just looking for justification that you can use with your wife! :D

I could not see keeping a BX25 and a B2601... There is so much overlap between these two machines it makes very little sense. A B2601 is essentially a BX on bigger tires. Horsepower and weight are nearly identical (sans backhoe).

B2910 vs BX are two very different machines. BX vs B2601 not so much.

I hear ya', but I can also say that I if I only had my BX2200, and decided to buy a BX23S (20 years later), I would still keep the BX2200 for grass cutting and other tasks such as pulling my dump trailer, as a supplement to the new BX23S. And they would be essentially the same size tractors.

I suppose I am in the minority...or should I say majority? Not sure about that...But I do know that two tractors are better than one!
