Hi

I have a L235 and would like to know if it is normal to run ruff for the first about 5 min after starting it. It sounds like it hits on 2cyl then every now and then you hear all 3 then 2 again till it clears up and runs great with no smoke.

Thank You & have a great day.

I would check all the glow plugs. It should run smooth right of the start. If glow plugs check out then you may have a bad injector. Glow plugs first though.:D

Well I'd still do the GP's first. Easy to do. A dead GP will give the same starting problems as bad compression.

When is the last time you adjusted the vavles? My L175 was acting similar this spring, it would run rough for a minute or so before smoothing out, and I would occasionally hear some valve rattle while mowing the yard.

Yesterday I checked and adjusted the vavles and the problem went away.
