The STB blades have optional hydraulic angle via two cylinders and feature a snow trip blade with dual springs. The cylinders act as dampers of sorts and the trip blade will rotate on impact with an immovable object. Both of these features help to mitigate forces on the loader arms but avoidance is the best policy. With the plow blade that far out in front of the loader arms what happens to the loader arms if you hit something solid, especially if you hit while the blade is angled. I could see bent loader arms could happen.
I spent a few hours last spring making sure the common driveway was clear of obstacles and I can run up/down with no worry about hitting a buried rock. However, plowing an unknown driveway is another matter and going slow is the best approach until you know that it's free of obstacles.
