New gear, snowblower lowers too fast

All new stuff, BX2380 with the commercial snowblower out front, all hydraulic. First real snow yesterday and went at it. The deflector chute is really snappy, zooms left right up down, pretty cool.
Raising the snowblower is fine...lowering it not so great...drops like a rock. And no matter how lightly or incrementally I nudge the control, the snowblower bangs down onto the ground.

Is there a adjustment for this?

as far as I know..
not on a stock machine.
I'd think you could add a 'flow control' device in the down' line

Mine is pretty fast to. Sure the quick hitch is home made but what I do is I only lift the blower up a couple inches at most. I do very lightly let it down , lot of weight hanging out front. Once you learn to be easy on the down lever it should be okay , you also have to realize the RPM's your running speeds up the oil flow.

Same. BX2380 with BX2830 48" commercial blower. I have a gravel driveway, so build up a snow/ice base and therefore don't really notice the "bang", nor is it an issue, until I lay it down in the concrete garage (or the other night on my neighbours ashphalt/pavement driveway.) Ka-bang ! It brought him out of the house....WTF?! LOL

In my garage, today, for the very first time, I ever-so-gently pushed the lever forward to set it down and surprise-surprise, I found the sweet spot. (tractor was only at 2000rpms at the time...). Just like butter.

I am going to experiment more with this.

Are you sure that your snowblower up/down function isn't hooked up the the FEL bucket swivel/dump outlets. If it is, you are probably using the quick dump/regen part of the valve to lower the blower.

I can't speak to the OP's machine, but on mine, which I *believe* is the same as most BX owners...(from the odd thread I've read on the subject-no other in-person experience locally)

if I push forward on the lever, the SB drops.....if I pull back, the SB raises. If I push WAY forward, the SB drops and floats. (side to side-left/right controls the hydraulic chute rotation)

No loader, and yes sir, that blower is heavy. It may be me...learning curve. I do like the idea of plumbing in something that is adjustable. Funny thing, the tractor is new, so break in procedure calls for going slow and taking it easy...but the manual for the blower say operate at full steam.

The new seat and tilt wheel are great!

Like I said, it was my first time out with the blower. I will say too that I lifted the front end off the ground a couple of times messing with the control and up/down/float. Thanks for the input all.
