A shout out to all you M7060 owners.

I love Kubota tractors and should have a parking spot at the local dealer considering how much time I spend over there. Every tractor on the lot is sold and only on display while the new owner figures out when they can take delivery. Today there was a brand new M7060 tractor out front and I got to sit inside it and get a good look.

I've had really good experiences with a BX25D for five years, an MX6000 HST for about a year and most recently an MX6000 HSTC. That said, they all pale in comparison to the mighty M7060. The difference in size between the MX6000 with a cab and the M7060 with a cab is substantial to the extent that it seems like a jump of several models rather than just one. The 7060 is too much tractor for my small little place and without question the MX6000s are just about perfect, but I sure would love to own an M7060 or bigger at some point in my life.

It does seem like you get 50% more tractor for 15% more cost. As I said, the M7060 is too much tractor for my needs and the MX6000s are outstanding for completing numerous tasks on small acreages, but I look at that M7060 and the lust takes over. I hope the local dealer gets an M4 or M5 in at some point so that I can check those out.

I don't get weird!!! I am weird!!!
The ballast is a 3 point forklift with a concrete block on it. I get the blocks from my local concrete company. They make them for stackable walls for retaining and barriers. The come in whole and half size. The small ones (pictured) are around 1500lbs to 1800lbs. Most concrete companies make them with leftovers that come back from jobs in the mixer trucks. The great news is they are cheap!!! I pay $25-$35 each. I just put it on the forklift and strapped it on. I intend to weld some 2" x 1/4" flat metal straps to the forklift to make it permanent. My local concrete company will make them smaller for me if I need. The first one I got from them was way to heavy so I had the make a smaller one.

I forgot to add, I got the forklift attachment on Craigslist for $50. I also, since taking this picture, cut the ends off of the forks flush with the block.

This is a Canadian angle to buying a tractor when you are not or no longer a real farmer.

Canada has a 13% tax on everything unless you can prove most of your income is derived from farming.

However, if the tractor's pto HP is is equal to or greater than 60 you are presumed to be a farmer and pay no tax.

This allowed me to buy a M7040 when until then I was looking at smaller tractors as the tax was $5,200.

that’s how I feel about the Grand L’s with a cab versus my LX2610HSDC. The local dealer has a L4060 HSDC on the lot and it’s a good thing it wouldn’t fit the tractor parking spot under our carport! Well or through and of the garden gates, etc etc.

When I moved up from a BX25D to the MX6000 HST it felt like a huge jump, but that's understandable given the number of models in between those two. Even the MX6000 HSTC feels like a jump compared to the open station, but the difference between an M7060 and MX6000 is significant. Would be cool to see photo of an MX6000 HSTC next to an M7060. Only 10 more hp or so but twice the tractor. I'd love one!

Interestingly, an instructor seat isn't an option on an M7060. You have to jump up to an M4 or bigger for that feature.

Right on. I am very happy and proud Mx owner. Only thing I have ever done with an M7060 is stare drool and make my wife embarrassed of me in public….so take my thoughts lightly. I’ve always thought when upgrading double the size and power if you want to really notice the capability difference. Going just a few HP or a few more pounds of weight is a hard sell for me to upgrade a machine i might never wear out. So I think you got the right idea on the upsize…however the MX and M7060 really are very very different machines. So I am not sure how they are really comparable. Either way go get a big orange monster. More power makes it easier as long as you have room to operate it. I am sure some M7060 folks will chime in. I don’t think you can wrong with either in terms of them being great machines…but I think they are not comparable. Just a real difference in class of machines.

A four cylinder 63.5hp MX6000 is a significant jump up over a three cylinder 35hp Mahindra 3535, but an M7060 is a significantly bigger tractor than an MX6000. Anyone would notice the difference between the three during operation, and if you put an MX6000 next to an M7060 the MX looks like a toy. The M7060 is going to cost $15k or more over an MX6000 if they're similarly equipped. If you need the significant increase in capability that the 7060 offers it's worth the additional cost. If you don't, it's a question of what you're comfortable with.

The M7060 really is a farm tractor, an entry level farm tractor for sure, but the MX series is a high-end hobby tractor. By hobby I mean taking care of small properties as opposed to working a farm where plowing, pulling slurry tankers, hay production etc. are the norm. The HST transmission is available in the MX line but not in the M7060, and for small properties where we use our tractors to move snow, pull a rotary cutter, move dirt, maintain driveways, pull a small trailer, use a grapple, and do any number of similar things, the HST really shines.

The only reason I am hesitant on the mx 6000 is that the loader capacity is not significantly more than my 3535 and the same is true with the 3pt capacity also. as far as the hp it is obviously a significant increase. I just wt to make sure make the right choice when ipu the trigger.

What do you use the loader for on your 3535 and what are the specs on the loader? I've used the MX6000 to unload hay bales stacked two high off a gooseneck trailer. The bales were supposedly close to 1,400lb. I was helping a friend but typically have no need for such aerobatics. If I were doing this sort of thing regularly I'd get an M7060.

Here's the guy I was helping. I let him unload a few bales in the hope that he'd buy the tractor.
