I looked at it and wondered where I left the key to start it. Guess it will spend the night outside.

that sucks! Dealer left a key in mine twice, I called them to ask if they wanted them Back and they said I could keep them. So now I have 4 keys for it lol

I also have a 5 year old MS170; the cheapest saw that Stihl makes but it's also one of the handiest. That MS271 is a tried and proven 50cc saw. Well balanced and will get-r-done. I have purposefully stayed away from the "C-M, M-tronic" saws that require a Stihl service center and their laptop program.

Not much. Took the back blade off and stowed it on the patio out back. Like to have the blades close by in the winter, so I can get to them.

Gives me more room for the grill to roast a beef tenderloin Christmas Day.

A year ago the 16th, we had 36” overnight. I blew about 5” before bed, and woke up to this at 0500.

I did 5 driveways that morning before 1000, two of which are long and wide.

One neighbor owns a pharmacy, and had to open the store. Another works for the Railroad, and had to go to work. Roads were closed, so I was off.

That little Kubota worked real hard for about 4 hours, and I refueled it later with just 3+ gallons of diesel.

The box blade in that spot was totally buried. Could only see a “bump” in the snow. Didn’t have the back blade then. Bought it this fall.

The MS170 is the saw that goes to the farm on most trips and the one I grab the most. It is lightweight and easy to use. Has been a wonderful saw and plan on getting many years of service from it.

For what it's worth, I have Stihls also.

MS211 and an older 046 Magnum. 211 is maybe 10+ years old; the 046 maybe 30 years old. Both bought used. Grew up with a Stihl 056 Super.

For a "little guy," the MS211 has been my go to for a while. Too old for M-tronic. It handles a 16" bar with "real" chain in decent fashion. I would not hesitate to look at a similar, non M-tronic saw again.

The 046 is kind of an Ox at 76cc/4.7 cu.in. There was a time I could have used a bigger saw, but those days have gone by.

I've shopped the MS362 a couple times, but shied away from the M-tronic stuff....

My next would probably be an MS400.

My 'big' saw is an MS362, non C-M. They make both and my dealer recommended the unit without the M-Tronic.

I have had it for over 2 years and for me it serves it's purpose. It wears a 25" bar/chain. That is a 42" Red Oak across the widest part.

Used the tractor and pallet forks to carry 3 60" Ash logs to the lean-to to be blocked up and split.

Would love to see a little of that in Eastern NC but you can keep the rest!! We get an inch and the whole area shuts down!!!

I installed a horn I took from a tiny Toyota and then installed a decompression cable on mine today. Was going to do a little grading on the drive but got tired

Got it from Amazon - very good customer service from Durafit, accidentally got the black one (my mistake) tried to cancel and get the camo one, Durafit fixed me up. I have the black one and the camo one now for the cost of just one. It's holding up just fine so far.

No criticism here. I have the Ken's bolt on hooks with backing plates in need to install yet. My welding skills leave a little to be desired and my MIG welder is only 120V so the bolt on variety is preferred. I did get my BX tooth bar installed a few weeks ago, and it went on easy. I was surprised how easy it was to drill into the bucket.

The 3/8" NPT 90 degree swivel street ell's arrived today. I had been tracking the USPS tracking number since it left Philadelphia PA on Monday. I use the USPS email service to know when it has arrived at my post office. Problem is that it was delivered to the wrong post office. I drove out to the next town to pick it up and do some other errands. By the time I got home and got out the tools, it started getting dark so I q.uit working. Got one installed before the darkness. Tomorrow is another day.

I added the bucket level indicator rod to my MX6000. It is handy because it’s hard to tell if the bucket is level when moving dirt. I think I’m going to like it.

Yeah, it's a useful tool for all manner of front implements including a snow blade, grapple, rock bucket, pallet forks etc.

I didn' t do much with Kubota tractors today . This morning I used the "old" MX, blower and snow blade to remove a couple of inches of snow off 400 yards of driveway. Then I stopped by the local Kubota dealer, bought a Kubota mug for a friend, signed some paperwork for the new MX, dropped off two pies for the employees, loaded a seat, seat frame and rear glass that were upgraded on the new build into the truck, then headed home to take delivery of the new MX. Once the new MX was at the house I spent 5 minutes cleaning the inside of the cab and 20 minutes washing off road salt from the exterior. So not much really!
