Super new to tractors. I have an LX2610 that I purchased in late October. Anyway, I noticed that when I use the lever to raise the 3 point hitch it won't move until the lever is approximately at the #4 mark on the lever scale next to the lever (about half way). It does seem to raise all the way up when I continue to move it along the scale to the highest part (#8). It also seems to lower fine.

Is it normal that it doesn't move in the #1 to #4 range? I have moved the valve dial below the seat to fully open, fully closed, and in between, none of which really change raising it, only lowering speed.

This does not seem normal to me. You should have movement throughout the range.

My L3901 behaves about the same. You also need to remember that with an implement attached the height of the hitch point is often above the lowest point of travel for the arms. So when the lift piston begins to move it has some free travel to cover before it actually starts moving the arms. As long as you get full lift it really does not matter where it starts.

It does appear to have full range of actual lift as far as I know, regardless of RPM or with or without attachments, the behavior is the same.

I will need to go back to the dealer when the FEL comes in for installation and can ask them to check it out then.

Mine behaves about the same. Lift doesn't really start until midway (like #4) but can stop at any number when lowering.

I think its perfectly fine.

So if it started moving sooner at the bottom what would happen at full lift? There are many other more important things to worry about.

If you look in the workshop manual for your tractor there should be a section that shows you how to adjust the travel of the lever. There is section in the WSM for the L2501.

As others have said, mine works the same. Thinking of the various implements I have for the 3 point, the trailer mover is the only one where lowest range of travel isn’t limited by ground contact and I don’t run the trailer mover or empty lift arms all the way down to avoid catching them on stuff (BTDT with other tractors in the past) so truly being at the bottom of range of travel is quite rare. So long as it goes all the way down and all the way up, I wouldn’t be concerned.

If you have an implement mounted, it may be keeping it from going to the bottom of travel. If you don't have an implement mounted, it probably doesn't have enough weight to reach the bottom of travel. Your 3 point is single acting, which means that it raises under force, but uses gravity to lower it. I stand on mine when I need it to go lower to hook up an implement.

Yes Normal. You can control the speed of the raise/Lower via the control know between your legs right in front of the seat.

Mine does the same too.

I believe the knob mentioned only affects the lowering speed, and has no affect on the raise speed…been a while since I messed with it though.

As long as you are getting full raise height from the 3-point the lift arms, and at or near the top of the control lever's range markings, it's good. Mine does the same. Kicks in around 3 1/2-4 rising from bottom. Used to it now.

Yes sorry it only affects lowering speed. I confirmed in the manual.
