Hey guys, I mow about a 4 acre area that is mostly grass and weeds but nothing to heavy or thick. I was going to go zero turn but am thinking I may just add a rear discharge finish mower to my BX 2200 list of attachments. The area is pretty much open field, little to no edging or even trimming. Would a 72” (like the Land Pride 1672) be to much for my BX 2200?

I wouldn't go bigger than a 60" and I wouldn't buy new. Plenty of good, used 5 foot finish mowers for sale all the time in my area.

My BX2200 cuts four or five acres reqularly with the 60" MMM with no issue, but I might notice it working a bit harder if the grass gets too high. IF you do not let things get out of hand, the 72 inch rear mower would probably work OK.

IF you do let things get out of hand, you could take less than a full width cut till you get things back under control.

I sometimes have wished I had a 72" MMM, but that's something that would not fit on the middle of the BX2200...The rear does not have that physical limitation, as far as I can imagine...
