Got the operators manual for the B2301/2601. One set of lights is outside the ROPS. On the LX, these same lights are inside the ROPS.

After bashing a light outside the ROPS and experience HUGH/HIGH price to replace, I've moved them inside the ROPS on the 3 JDs I've owned.

Is it easy to do on the Bs?

I've got the BX but I'm pretty sure you have better access with the B series. A lot of different ways of mounting them, I used all factory holes in the rops for mounting and wiring. The wiring is fed into the rops from the bottom hole and run up to the pivot point. From there I done some connections for the left light then extended wire up and over through the rops to feed the right light. The same run feeds the rears but their switched separately. My neighbor has the 2301 and it has better access from bottom of the rops from what I remember.

Wow. I'd NEVER mount new, expensive lights outside the ROPS. Where I take my tractor has LOTS of trees and tree limbs. One reason why I don't raise the ROPS either (in addition to doing $3,000 damage to the front of its garage because I forgot to lower it).

That's why they invented cutoff saws

Them ROPS are good for that...
Mines mainly for moving dirt, snow and gravel in wide open spaces. Zero turn "with ROPS down" for mowing, BX is just to make my life easier with snow removal as my body breaks down.
