Looking to purchase a new CUT. I can't find any noise data on Kubota's
(John Deere has that data). My choices are L3800 , L3540, L3940.
The L3940 is a little big, but it does get you to 4 cylinders.

Anyone have noise measurement data on these 3 models?
Probably not, so how about subjective opinions?
Is the 4 cyl smoother/quieter than the 3's?

Thanks

Buy a set of ear plugs and you wont hear a damn thing!
Yeah, if I'm goin to spend much time on any tractor I wear ear muffs.:D

I bought a L3800DT two months ago and it's not that bad. Put 12 hours on it this week and really love it!!! Don't be scared of the 3 cyl, it's a fantastic power plant!

The 4 maybe be smoother, but only at idle. Over 1000 rpm they are both smooth. Sound level should be about the same.

Our old L3750 has a 5 cyl and is Very smooth, but no quieter than the L3800.

Thanks for the info. Looks like the L3800 is a good fit all around for me.
I went with the L3800DT because of price and also because it's a no frills, simple tractor. Very easy to work on and maintain.

What I didn't realize at first was how nice a machine it is. I'm pleasantly surprised every time I use it. I love it! :D
