I don't know what a Gopher Blaster is, unless you mean a firearm of some type. If so you can pick up a very nice .22 rifle scoped for under 300 bucks and a nice 22-250 or .223 for under 600. However I dont know for a fact but I under stand that a stuff called FLY BAIT from Agway ,and other farm supply stores, added to the critters favorite munchies will send them to their demise rather quickly.

Ahh hell I just saw your on the Left Coast, forget the fly bait you cant get it there! Perhaps a rat terrier. a bunch of cats or a piece of hose from the exaust of your gas mower down the hole. Though my self I would opt for the
.22

A gopher blaster is a device made up of a propane tank, oxygen tank and gauges hoses similar to what you find on gas welding unit and a mixing handle and a elect detonator you stuff the mixing handle into the gopher hole let the fuel run for 20 sec and blast away killing all occupants . You can google gopher blaster and see videos, even tho I live in Ca I carry a bible and love my guns and am as conservative as they come ....Dan

Having seen the blaster idea, I think and like the gopher choker better. Although I've never used either. The choker is made from a 2cycle weed whacker of some brand or another. As an earlier poster noted the exhaust in piped in the hole and the rodent expires quietly, if tunnels other ends are blocked. Same problem with blaster. Can find examples on YouTube.

My 2 cents.

I've seen 'em (gopher blaster/gopher getter). Would LOVE to have one. Know folks that have them and yes they work reliably. Might check with your Dept of Wildlife, they are not actually legal to hunt ground hogs, wood chucks, gophers etc. with here in Ohio as they are not an "approved means". Most people I know use them for "demolition of vacant burrows".

I know Ca has some wacky laws but protecting gophers isn't one of them , I found a second hand one today will look at it next weekend so maybe in the next 10 days or so ill be blasting gophers and any other varmints living down under.....Dan

Something else you may want to consider is visiting a local gun club.
Often enough you will find many willing hunters who will be happy to shoot your gophers, free of charge.
I would jump all over the opportunity!
