Yup, she just got back home from the Hydraulic Hospital. Both the boom and the bucket were dropping and at ~16 years old, it was time for cylinder kits.

Wow what a difference. It cost me a bit extra to have them remove the cylinders from the tractor, but that job was not something that I could handle by myself soooo. $1500 to remove and rebuild the 4 cylinders.

The backhoe on my new tractor drooped from day one. After being hospitalized for six weeks at the place of purchase, the patient was just as sick after it was discharged. Yesterday it was admitted to Messick's hospital and just two hours ago I was informed that it will be given transplants of several vital organs. It appears that the first facility claimed a new organ, but nothing happened.

Oh absolutely. I had a good bit of sawdust and other debris to clean up after this past Saturday's sawing. (y)

Actually, if they ever go bad again, removing the cylinders is very easy. Lower the loader to the ground and turn off the motor. Then jiggle the joystick in all directions to relieve hydraulic pressure. Then it’s just a matter of using a wrench to remove the hydraulic lines. The lines will drip a little, but just cover them with plastic bags to keep them clean. Then pull the pines that hold the cylinders in ( just requires a needle nose players to remove cotter pins. Very simple to remove and install them.

When you reinstall the rebuilt cylinders, run the tractor and work the loader. Then turn off the engine and check the hydraulic fluid. Top off the reservoir if necessary.
