Rear Blade

I’m looking for a rear blade for my B2650. My dealer said he can ge one in from another store. RB 1572. $839 RB1672 $1039. Is that about right or is that high. Thanks for the help and advice

I paid $ 826 + 15% tax for a total of $950 CDN (delivered!) recently for my RB1560, but I am in Eastern Canada. I think, being in the States, those prices sound pretty good to me.

Make sure that any blade you buy has a pin you can pull to offset it. Blades without easy offset capability are limited in their use for road maintenance. My 20 year and led version of that blade doesn’t offset.

Buy an EA 6 Way Deluxe Scrape Blade.
You will not find a more versatile category one blade!

Agree. I miss the ability to offset my 72" rear blade...I can get a bit of angle with my tilt cylinders.

Good idea to spend once and get the best functionality. Offset, angle and tilt would be on my list if I were buying a new one.

The price seems reasonable.

I think it depends on how often you will change the angles and offset. Look at how they move before choosing. That's sortof a regret for the one I bought. Realistically using a wrench to change the offset isn't that bad. Generally speaking heavier is better. The weights can vary a lot.

About right. was $850 for my 1572.
I ended up with a 1572 because the wait was 6 months for a 1672.Little annoyed because you can't put hydraulic angling on the 1572.

When I’m grading my gravel road, I’m always jumping off to change the angle and offset. And especially for snow clearing. It’s important to be able to spin the blade backwards to skim off snow without removing the gravel. Then offset it to clear the road next to the ditch.

I looked atthe RB1572... basic blade. don't know if that's a 'good' price.
perhaps there's some used/abused blades available in your area ?
I bought an old, HEAVY one, 6' for $500 CDN, also came with 3F plow and tractor.....

If it'l do the job you NEED it to do, great, go for it. having 'extras' on a plow is a waste of cash if you never,ever use them..
Don't know why JY has to get off and adjust all the time. I set mine once(angle and tilt), then do the 1000' driveway, never have to get off. But every driveway is a bit different....

First you do two passes with blade offset to pull gravel from side of road to the center, then two more passes to crown the road center.
