Good day. Sort of depends o. What you are planning to cut…I have a mx6000 with a land pride rcf27 and use it for general mowing at a second property. I was able to get ina. Total package when I bought the tractor. I never considered anything but the land pride to include in the 0%. Looking back and the inflation we see now that was a steal. I’ll be paying the machine and implements off with dollars that the paper is worth more than what printed on them. General mowing for my situation is lawn area, as well as trails that are planted with some sort of rye grass and clover mix. I also use to clear trails including heavy stands of saplings and small trees and as well to basically cut down to dirt prior to filling née garden space. It actually does a decent job of mowing, better on the not rolled/smooth ground than the belly mower on my b2650…no kidding. It really shines though in tall grass and clear small trees and brush. The only way to stall the machine is if you find a stump. It’s truly impressive. I think with your tractor it would easily run a wider mower/cutter if you desired. When you look at price I’d look at the weight between the makes/models you are comparing and the think about your application. If you plan to cut trees down maybe a heavy brush hog, if just grass maybe a lighter weight version. I think only good way to compare is look at the weight….visually loo at how they are welded that will say a lot about the quality you are getting if it matters. Everything about the rcf27 seems to be very hefty. I hope this helps. What’s a good 6 ft hog for the money for a mx6000… opinions needed before I buy ….
As nice as those are, aren't they more of a grass cutter than a brush hog? The size and offset are great features for sure.Land Pride RCD1884. 7 foot wide twin spindle. Only sticks out 80" behind the tractor.
Hello again. Maybe one other consideration is the design of the fabricated deck…flat tops shed water if you will be leaving outside vs the type where the frame is on top. The frame on top will hold water if left outside. Also, if you plan to back over small trees, be aware the tractor will push the brush hog over things it shouldn’t be trying to cut…when this happens it will deform the back of the cutter…there are sort of two types rounded and square. If you plan to do a lot of brush hogging and small trees, the. The rounded type would most likely be more durable…they should also have a notch cut out (allows for materials to flow out) of them vs the square type which generally do not. I’d recommend the chains on front and back to knock down the debris. The protector plate that holds the chains will get deformed but with some basic agri engineering skills that can be fixed. Key there is you don’t want the chains swinging under deck and hitting your blades. If you have the sqare deck and it folds under then the deck would hit you chains. Anyways it was just another thought. Happy shopping. What’s a good 6 ft hog for the money for a mx6000… opinions needed before I buy ….
I use a Woods BB720X with my very similar L6060. This is a rugged, heavy mower, a bit too heavy for the 6060 and I have broken two hitch components, one three times. I also need front weights. What’s a good 6 ft hog for the money for a mx6000… opinions needed before I buy ….
I use chains on the rear of all of my rotary cutters but belting on the front to reduce weight and, more importantly, reduce the amount of debris deposited on the rear of the tractor.Hello again. I don't think so. Mine has stump jumpers and the same blades as a bush hog.As nice as those are, aren't they more of a grass cutter than a brush hog? The size and offset are great features for sure.
I like the idea of solid type belt for front of hog to knock down on debris getting on back of tractor, my brother has 3901 and 1860 land pride and that joker will cover you up on hot dry dayI use chains on the rear of all of my rotary cutters but belting on the front to reduce weight and, more importantly, reduce the amount of debris deposited on the rear of the tractor.
