What did you do to or on your Kubota today?

Looking at buying a second tractor anyone ever own a 8560 mahindra? Or large mahindra tractor it is a 1999 pre emissions and has 1800 hrs.

Blower isn’t hooked to PTO yet. Chains not on the rears yet either.

Got the towering pile of pellets behind it. That stack is done by mid-January or so.

I got a nice white tail yesterday afternoon on my property (opening day of general rifle) and got him back to the house using the bucket. It's cheating for some but there you go. This guy is about as big as I've seen up here with a fair amount of fat on him.

WOW!! Beautiful 10 (?) point. What, maybe 20-22" spread? Definitely in the rut, big time. Look at the neck...

Betting pretty heavy dressed weight....looks stout.

You didn't field dress him?

Where you're at, what do you have for ungulate games species; obviously whitetail, elk (?), moose (?), blacktail (?), pronghorn(?).

Yep, couldn’t pass them up. After some digging, this box is for an M. The smaller is for an L. There wasn’t a MX when they were made.

I have the same blade for my BX. I can get a full level 360 deg turn on the blade and I still have decent lift height! It will serve you well.

Thanks and yes, a 5x5 as they say up here. Spread is only about 17" widest point to widest point. I gutted him last night and hung him up with the FEL. I finished up today skinning, quartering and getting the head ready for the taxidermist. I'm hanging the meat for a few days before processing so have it in game bags in the garage. I wish it were cooler but it's down in the low 30s at night.

We have elk, white-tail, mule deer, sheep and moose up here. The antelope are on the other side of the Rocky Mountain Front. I shot an elk on my property last year and might get another chance this year if it gets colder.

Picked up an old fertilizer sprayer frame. Will fix it up and make it a sprayer again or possibly cut it down into a platform for landscaping items. All the plastic bits will be replaced. Just needed the frame.

Mowed some cotton plants... it rained a wee bit today so we could not harvest as planned. It's one of our regulated cotton trail that is crop destruct. This was some border cotton surrounding our test... We'll harvest in the next day or two, then dump it all on the ground and burn it.

Decided I really needed a shackle on the drawbar. After I received it today I wasn't happy with the pin:

I like to install any pins like this with the retainer on top. That extra T handle hanging below the drawbar in the woods wasn't appealing. So

The grinding wheel made short work of it.

Not a criticism, just a question: why do you install with the hairpin on top?

I’ve always installed with the hairpin on the bottom as the linchpin doesn’t automatically fall out of the hairpin is dislodged, or maybe it’s just out of illogical habit.

In this instance I agree with the hairpin being up to prevent debris from unlatching/loosing it but, that appears to be the wrong size hairpin. Much too small.

I would never place a hitch pin in upside down. If you are worried about the hairpin getting caught simply push it onto the hitch pin until the hitch pin is in the hole where you would place your finger when pulling the hairpin out. That way the hitch pin stays in place if you did lose the hairpin.

Well I appreciate the comments about the orientation of the pin. Over the years I have lost a couple of low hanging hairpins that were disengaged by who knows what in the woods. I have never lost a pin where the hairpin was 'upside down'.

I agree with Magicman the supplied hairpin is too small. I'll definately change that. I prefer these safety spring pins - Have never had an issue with them.

The hairpin that I use is probably 1/4". I have to take a hammer, etc. to tap it in or out.

Push the hair pin in all the way to the loop and it won’t get dislodged.

How long does a bag of pellets last you? And is that your only source of heat?

Removed three stumps from the yard over the weekend. I couldn't get all of the one in the picture. I'll need to grind it below the ground. The roots are very large and too close to the road for comfort.

On average, I burn about 1.25 bags/day - - only heat source, but do have oil-fired boiler for backup.

Equates to about $6.50/day for heat with pellets.

I figure fuel oil averages about 3+ gal/day. I think $1.80/gal oil is about break-even. Running ~$3.25 last I checked.

Same here. when its really cold I can go thru almost 2 bags/day heating 2600 sq ft. The pellet stove does the heavy lifting, ductless heat pumps just don't provide that radiant heat to make you feel warm so, they run as backup. I also have a propane fired boiler that I've only used once.

RCW, those look like TSC pellet bags. I picked up a ton locally from TSC but they were the nasty hardwood pellet blend. I didn't have a choice since my preferred provider can't get hardwood pellets this year.
