I have a question. I have the SCG0660 Grapple for my B2650. It opens the jaws fine and quick but closes at a super slow rate and I cant pick anything up with it. I am thinking that air might of gotten into the system. If so How do i bleed the air out? The attached link is the exact unit just different vendor. Thanks.

The tractor will bleed the air out of the lines. Open and close grapple multiple times. That should do it.

Also, check your quick connects are seated all the way.

ok thank you. I checked that all fittings are secure. Question though, How can the tractor purge air from the Hydraulic system if its a "Closed system"?

On my L2501 there is a bleed tube under the seat that pushes excess pressure and air out (as explained/showed to me by the dealer). When my grapple was delivered we had to run it through multiple open/close cycles to purger the air and prime it with fluid. Then even after a day of use I need to again add some hydraulic fluid to the tractor. I noticed that because the grapple would be extremely slow cycling while also moving the fel.

Air can be purged from the cylinders I believe - the seals are "oil-tight, not air-tight", so by moving the cylinders in & out a few times, the air will go.

Thanks for the insight. Ive been out there for the last 45 minutes opening and closing the grapple yet it still opens quickly and closes super slow. If I point the claws down, it wont close at all. Its like they have too much resistance or something. Ive checked the Fluid level and its topped off. I found what appears the air purge J tube on top of the resivour . thoughts?

Thread Hijack: Similar set-up question, LP 0550 Grapple with Flat top connectors, brand new:
One of the connectors presses right on, the other I always have to work it, press real hard, roll it all around the flat top for quite a few minutes before it presses on. Feels like backed up pressure in the line or something.
Not sure if it's because I'm a total weakling or not, but all my other QD's pop right on, and this one is always a tough b!tch.

Not sure of the connectors that you are using but can you reverse the hoses and see if the problem stays? At least maybe that would help narrow down the problem.

Who installed your 3rd function valve?

What brand is your 3rd function?

UPDATE::: Turns out that even though everything looked ok visually, turns out that the connection at the 3rd function box was not hooked up. I removed it, cleaned it and re attached it... the grapples works like a charm...
