My Kubota L3240 is the first diesel engine I have maintained. Is it recommended to run any diesel additive with these engines? The machine will be used periodically for maintenance of our small property as well as snow push back. I would speculate we will run through less than 20 gal per year. Currently using off road diesel.

The simple answer, if it is sitting more than it is used and will go through hot/cold cycles where temps can allow condensation to build up in the fuel and/or the fuel to freeze, adding an additive is a good thing. I won't say which additive because everyone has their own favorite brand.
Look for one that will help keep the fuel from gelling, demulsifies water, and is made for diesel fuel.

I use a bit more fuel at the farm but I have similar situation and the necessary extra fuel is stored in six 5 gallon jugs. Of course being in the South I have no gelling but I do add two 'additives'.
One oz. of the Standyne and one teaspoon of the BioKleen per 5 gallon jug.
As mentioned by Bmyers above everyone has their favorites that they trust, this just happens to be mine.

Use the additives and keep your fuel tank topped up to the filler neck after each use to minimize the amount of humid air in the tank. This is especially important because if you only use 20 gallons per year, the possibility of the tractor sitting idle with more air than fuel in the tank is more likely.

I read it quickly, does it provide any anti-gel properties? I didn't see any, that is why I'm asking. The further north you are, the more important that becomes, especially if you may have gotten your fuel in a time frame when the station wasn't carrying the winter blend.What are your opinions on Pri-D?

Hi everyone, At what temp do you add a diesel additive ? Is there a specific temp where it becomes a must ? Maybe you add it, maybe you've discovered you don't need it. Would love to hear opinions etc. thanks everyone ! :)

I use a biocide year 'round. Also different Power Service depending if summer/winter.
