Loaded and larger R14s. Is the 6foot Box Blade too much for the LX2610? Can't find 60 inch so send it on the 72 !

I just want to make sure I am not going to hurt the tractor. I checked specs and lift and weight. It should be fine. Any suggestions would be great.

You'll be limited by traction. You may have to take smaller bites. 6 rippers will be a challenge. Keeping a loader bucket full of material will help (in 4wd).

Not sure where/what brand you are looking for. I have an EA myself that they say was designed for B2650. Its a 5 footer with 4 rippers.

Have you checked tractor supply or Rural King in your area?

Edit: just looked for myself...holy crap the prices have shot up. jeez.

I have a 5 foot box blade on mine, and it works very well. I am sure you can accumulate enough material in either a 5 or 6 foot box to stall the tractor (especially if you are going up a grade/hill). Of course, the 6 foot box would be more prone to that problem.

FWIW, I have graded a 35 x 35 foot shed pad, dressed a steep driveway and some smaller tasks with a 5 foot box with no stalls; in total I have graded/spread more than 50 tons of crusher on these projects.

That's a lot of box blade for a 2610, especially with oversized tires.

Depending upon what you plan to do with it, I expect that you will often find yourself in L range and traction limited.

The Operators Manual specifies 54" and 227 Lbs. I have a 72" box blade with (IIRC) 5 rippers but I would never put it on my B3350.

Just a BX with a 48” here, but I use it a lot. Have done some great work with it.

I wouldn’t recommend a 6-footer on an LX.

I’m sure your tractor will pull the empty box for smoothing stuff out, your ability to pull while digging or moving a full box of material will be limited, at best.

One of the selling points of a BB is to do all those things. Losing a lot of functionality going too big…..

I have an Lx2610 with a 60” box blade. It pulls it no problem with the scarifiers up. I don’t often put them down, but when they are down, it still pulls it just fine.
you should really only be pulling a box blade in low if the blades are down.
If you only have a 72, or that’s all that’s available, go for it.
And if you don’t like it you can sell it for exactly what you paid, if not more. And you can use it until you find a 60

I have a 60" King Kutter that I would love to trade someone for a 72". Bought a new L3301 and it just plays with the 60".

When I bought our B3030,my implement dealer told my 4WD tractor would pull a 72" box blade.
I chickened out and bought a 60"
In retrospect,I should have got a 66"-good compromise!
Good Luck!

My BX pulls a 5 foot box blade no problem! I have even dragged a box full while removing a few inches with the FEL at the same time although on rare occasion.
To me I think it all depends on your soil. I cant imagine your bigger machine having a problem with just 6 more inches on each side. Remember low range go slow and dont bury the pedal which puts you in a higher gear!

Yes. There are no 60 box blades anywhere at the moment. I got this nice 72 for a great price. I can always sell it for a 60 or cash or whatever.

So the smaller tires would be better? I'm curious.
I was planning on L range and 4wd for the grading work and moving soil.
227lbs ? thats seems light.

Yeah buddy, your in the over kill range,, with out the rippers you might be OK or even 3 or 4 down taking light cuts. Ya gota remember you LX isnt a 988 and weight is your friend when you are pulling a box that big,, So yeah were I you,, CL or the I Wana or green sheet. sell or trade, but a 60 is really all you want to drag with an LX. Just MHO

Oversized tires increase speed at the expense of torque.

The 54" and 500 Lbs. recommended limits come from the Kubota Operator's Manual. Not my figures.

That's 227 KG, not pounds. It's 500 pounds according to the manual I have.
