I’ve scoured the web and can’t find an ecu. Ive replaced the entire wiring harness. Plugs, coils, switches etc. turns over but won’t start. Also still ignores brake pedal engagement as a switch to start. Testing the relay and it works. I believe the ecu is toast. If anyone has a lead please let me know ASAP. This is the last thing I can try before using tannerite…..

You might want to check out the stator. When it's failed the engine turns over fine but will not start.

I own the diesel version of the TG1860 so this comment may be way out in left field, but I wasn't aware the TG1860 even had a ECU.

Have you checked for spark? Fuel? Air?
On a gas engine the first thing to do is check for these 3, then timing I presume.

Sorry-not much help here.

Good luck sir.

This def has a control module of some sort as all the harnesses plug into it. But these are things I can check as well. We do have fuel. No spark. But ignighter, coil packs and plugs new

Looking up engine parts for the gas Kawasaki engine is pretty tough when you look for Kubota" because Kubota does not support that engine now.

Look on the side of the engine and get the engine ID and look for that. When I was looking for engine parts I went to Kawasaki with the engine number. That engine was used in other machines.

Kawasaki FD590V 20HP Charging Stator M94632 from John Deere GX345 I bought this one a while back and have not installed it yet. Maybe it won't work? But research using the FD590V engine.

Might contact these folks, they are Kawasaki dealers. https://mowdoc.com/

This is the sticker on my engine which I’ve been looking for info but not finding much. Is this the FD590v?

From what I see Tractordata.com provides details on the engine in your tractor.

Kawasaki provides the following info re their engine labels and ordering parts.

the stator is not used to start the engine on this model. all it does it charge the battery after the engine is running (kinda like an alternator). The pickup coils which are "near" the stator (but outside the flywheel) supply the pulse that makes the "ecu" (CDI) tell the coils to fire a spark plug.

Do u have a test light? The old kind (with a wire). Ground the wire. Turn key on. Check the coils, should have power to both sides of the coil. If so, good. Now crank the engine over. One of the terminals should pulse quickly. LED Test lights show it a little better but the regular kind works too. If you have power, and pulse, but no spark you have a bad coil, plug wire cap, or fouled spark plug(s).

Will try this, but I can tell you the coil, plus wire cap, and plugs are new.

that doesn't mean they're any good.

if no pulse, you'll check the cdi for ground and power. May just be a fuse or bad ground or something simple. If no 12v, check fuses, wiring, etc. A work shop manual will tell you exactly how to test the systems.
