I thought earlier this year I should consider a canopy. However, the hottest days are pretty much over in my area, so it seem silly to buy one for those temps.

So, if you use a canopy while snow plowing, do you think it helps much?

Depends on whether or not its snowing at the time😉
Ok kidding aside, it can if your plowing under tree branches etc. It can also help to keep some of the engine heat on you while snowing. Aside from that, no it doesn't really help much.

Yes, if you put a golf cart cover over the top of the canopy, it will keep you dry, and possibly warmer. Blowing and plowing snow one winter taught me that there had to be a better way, and that better way was when I installed a soft cab.

I think it would be worth getting.. especially if you're thinking of getting one for summer anyways. When you get those really wet snows it's well worth having, plus it gives you a chance to fab up some type of surround to help keep some blowing elements off you.

My canopy has glass on 4 sides and a heater. It's great for snow blowing in my pj's. I don't plow snow because we get too much of it.

Never used my canopy when moving snow. It really would not protect me unless we had a storm with no wind. My only real issue was getting sunburned from the reflection off the snow. Similar to sitting in the shade at the beach and getting burned off the reflection off the water. Now a cab would be a different story but that would be for the next tractor

Canopies work great for knocking fresh snow off tree branches onto your lap. Not an issue if you don't have trees or branches to rub against.

I put a golf cart rain cover on my canopy. I get them for about $60. It keeps the wind from blowing snow all over me. It's much more comfortable to do snow blowing.

I got a snowmobile helmet, a parka and snow pants.

Been talking to dealer about a Curtis cab.Currently they don't have a cab for the LX2610 but its a popular model. They might make a cab for it.

Pictures please!!
So, I dont have a picture of the golf cart enclosure but it's whatever is cheapest and best rated at the time on A, usually about $60. Here's a picture of the canopy I made. It's about 10 years old and due for its second rebuild. It's a bit heavy and I am having the thought of wanting a commercial product but it seems like the cheapest for something decent is about $500 and I don't think I want to spend that much, so I'll probably patch this back together and put it back on. I just use 4 stainless band clamps (2 on each side) to attach it. I built the canopy to fit the cart encloser, about 42 by 59 inches. If anyone has an idea for an outstanding deal on a commercial product id be curious.
