I guess it depends on if you have a mortgage goal of paying it off early or going the full term.
Running my own business I always felt like someone had a grip on me having the bank own my property. I worked hard and paid off the mortgage and own what I have. I good feeling I can tell you.
I did the same thing with my kubota 5 yr loan. Paid it early.
I agree with Jimmy, put it towards the principle and knock the loan down.
WFM, you're being WAY to logical! Often folks live in the moment. They do not consider the ramifications of their decisions. How will this decision effect me 5 years/10 years from now????

I agree with your choices and the freedom it allows. I also know about 97% disagree, or at least don't do it. Be Blessed by your choices.

ohhhhh one of them rowboats
I'm not familiar with that term, but if you mean a poorly written Turing box that crawls forums looking for certain key phrases and then registers itself to respond innocuously a few times before starting the spamming, then yeah, one of those rowboats. <lol>

Two new members with the identical first message in the same thread. It's just a coincidence. 🤣

Are you looking for advice on how best to spend your money? Haha, wouldn't it be better to invest it somewhere? Then you won't have to make excuses to your wife, and you'll have a new source of finances. Unexpectedly received or saved money is always spent first. I know that easy money goes to waste because you don't appreciate it and learn to use it properly. It's better to make a promotion plan or a business development site and invest your money in a new and profitable business than to be happy with the amount of money in your bank account. Financial counseling can help you to do it.

First, paydown the mortgage. Don't matter how many shiny toys you got, if YOU don't OWN the 4 walls and roof over your head. Instead of investing, I paid off my mortage in 2 years 3 months ,that was in '88. allowed me to retire in '90. I'm 68 , so do the math....
Second would be to pay OFF any high interest rate credit cards, NOT the one with the highest balance
I'd also cash in 2 of the HDs, can only ride one at a time( least that's all I could...)
