I am about to buy a 7030 and the only fear I have is the clutch. How much can I expect to pay to have the clutch replaced?

It has a FEL and here is no shuttle, so I am presuming it has been shifted alot in 4000 hours.

Depending where you get parts they will likely add up to $3000 or so and about 20 hrs labour with a loader.

How much “free play” in the clutch pedal? As a rough estimate, if you have proper free-play before the throw-out bearing contacts the pressure-plate….1” minimum and 2” maximum… then the clutch should have plenty of material left.
Another “test” of both clutch and brakes is to set the brakes, put it in 1st gear, engine idling and let the clutch out slowly to see if the clutch can kill the engine.
Clearly not definitive…but a rough test.
Call the local dealer and ask what they charge for it.
