So I have looked for a PTO Reverser and they are as rare as a Unicorn to find or so exceptionally expensive it would be cheaper to buy another "disposable" mower for the task at hand.

My "Silly" question is that since the PTO is spinning 540RPM CCW , would it not be cheaper to get ( I already own one ) a CW spinning pull behind 3PT mower and either flip the blades and modify a left discharge chute? I get that it is not optimal or "correct" , but for the cost? Any safety concerns? I love my machine (B6000D 4wd w/B-219 loader) that I just invested in new tires and rims all around , new radiator, hydro control valve rebuild , LED lights, new hydro hoses all around , paint , multi-flush all fluids etc...

I understand I may be over-simplifying the issue , but all things considered , a $1500+ reverser seems a bit excessive and if either flipping the blades or having new blades cut for CCW rotation with a mirror chute for discharge fabricated to the left , would it be an issue? I am not mowing a golf green, just a very very hilly property and the belly mower just cant (literally) cut it lol

Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe you can flip the gears in the gearbox on the mower and get it to turn the right way?

Not against the idea, but that would be above my pay grade lol I also think there *may* be helical gears in there that probably cant just be flipped but require new ones cut, which would cost more than the machine is worth?

Many gearboxes can be put together so the output shaft turns the other direction! It is worth a look and likely would be easier than modifying the deck

I had studied this topic with snow blowers years ago and found that most ag gear boxes ( except the worm gear walk behind style used on front blowers) reversing the rotation was simply a matter of moving a gear from one side of the box to the other. The gears are simple bevel gears.

A little late to this dust-up, but new PTO reversers for the B6000 (and other Kubota / Zennoh CCW PTO models) are available from Tracpartz in the Netherlands. Buy one! Keep them in production! In other news, Woods made a 3pth finishing mower model RM48 that can be easily adapted to the reverse PTO by changing the drive belt path. There is a Youtube video of a fellow with a B6000 and RM48. RM48's are quite common at auctions/used equipment dealers.
