BX changing the anti freeze

Has anyone figured out how to do that with out removing the lower hose?

Just did mine. Was easy enough to undoo the hose and pull it, after all your wanting to get the sedimate out of the bottom of the raidiator. Then there is a drain on what looks like the bottom of the injection pump that drains the block. I refilled with distilled water and warmed her up and drained that out the same way then refiled with 50/50

There's a drain at the bottom of the radiator, but it looks really Hokie (no pun intended) to me. I figured I'd break it trying to drain from there.

But less of a “mess” than if you would break that drain valve on the radiator!

For or some reason I thought you sold the BX after you got the bigger tractor....

I do mine when the mower is off. Was your mower on too? If so, bet that makes a bigger mess..

Naww the old gal is still in use, I feel a lot more comfortable on it on the hills than the B,, maybe when I get a set of spacers for it. Yep last time I figure yeah I can do it with the deck on,,, wrong,,, good thing it was out on the cement apron of the garage.
So Im going to do all me filters on both pretty soon, and I will get it done then, I just have to get stuff together and attack everything with reckless abandon ,,

I drained my BX at the block. That plug came right out, you remove all the fluid and you dont dilute your 50 50 mix with the water left behind. Easy peasy! Its worth a try to give it a little twist to see if it moves! I know many dont want to risk breaking anything. If it didnt come out so easily I would have gone another route. Just looking at the lower hose location and the cheesy radiator drain (probably plastic) gave me anxiety!

I drained my bx at the block and from the radiator drain. The problem with draining the bx at the block is its nearly impossible to pre-fill the block back up!

Im not sure I understand? Are you saying when you refill the radiator that the fluid does not go into the block? I rinsed the system before refilling with the 50/50 mix and it all ran out of the block. After refilling with the 50/50 mix it never needed to be topped off or overheated so im guessing the block was filled? Next question is how did you guys get your hands even close to the radiator hose or the drain plug??? I couldnt get my big mitts in there! LOL!

I’ve got a B2650 and need to change the antifreeze. The plug on the radiator doesn’t both me. It’s the petcock on the block I’m worried about breaking

The fluid will move from the radiator to the block after the thermostat opens.

im no kubota tech, but the only way i could see to refill the block directly was to remove the thermostat which is installed with RTV (on my BX).

Had anyone looked up the procedure in the operators manual?
I know I often find answers there I may have forgotten about after reading the manual upon/before delivery.
We all read the op manual when we got our tractors-right?
