Freakin druggies

Potheads must be a lot different where you guys are from. The ones I know own companies, work high tech jobs, have successful families and in general are really good people. I couldn't imagine any one of them stealing anything. I have never actually met a skid row pothead.

This is why I asked what is a druggie today? I have a neighbor that is drunk most of the time, he is a much bigger danger to the general population (and himself) than any of the "potheads" I know. A guy in town went on a stealing spree to support his prescription Vicodin habit a while back, I would call him a druggie but what does that make his doctor?

My high horse is more like a rocking pony in this discussion.

As an aside, you guys do realize pot doesn't actually kill brain cells right? You sound silly saying it this day and age. This is just another of the thousands of examples why you can't just "trust" the government.

I was referring to alcohol, but yeah, technically that doesn't actually kill any brain cells either. I was being facetious. However, it does interfere with the ability of the neurons to pass signals and THC does similarly interfere with brain function, particularly memory and mood. There is a reason why one slang term for inebriation is "getting stupid".

As with everything, moderation is key. The brain will bounce back but the heavier the use, the longer it takes. Full recovery following heavy use can take weeks or even months in both cases.

And yes, I know many professionals that openly admit to using marijuana now that it is legal to do so up here. Interestingly, I know many more that eschew THC in favour of CBD oils. They claim they receive the medicinal benefits of marijuana without unwanted psychoactive effects.

It has been on the rise around here as well. News interviewed a scrap yard dealer. It was obvious he knew he was buying stolen cats. It was also obvious he was making a huge profit on them and so was not going to disrupt his income stream. Cops really do not care. It is the world we live in now.
