L2501H Shuts off when I stand up off seat ? Safety Switch ?

So, I pinned out the seat switch, according to the values, its good, so that leaves the module or a wiring/connector problem.

Yes, I took a pic of my PC monitor, for I could not get a capture of it via the pc. As you can see its got 5 different paths in the seat switch, also noticed, the hot and cold side of the fuel soleniod is controlled in two different circuits, they did their best to keep you from jumping these things out, unless your committed.

Thats just an ON-OFF-ON toggle switch. The center position corresponds to operator out of seat but seat not tilted forward.
Have you tried tilting the seat forward to see if that has any effect? Might yield a clue as to where to go next in the logic table.

Edit: if you are so inclined it looks like a zip tie on that lever should disable the switch until you can find and fix the problem.....

Damm, this sort of thread reminds me how glad I am my tractor has only two safety switches… the range lever must be in neutral and the pto must be Off in order to start it. No seat switch at all.
Makes this thing pretty simple…. except for the time the starter relay failed…. LOL.

Yes, agreed. I looked for an older nice quality tractor, I looked for months for something within 750 miles of my place and anything nice was within dollars of new.

I still have an older Case 60hp Utility tractor, you need to clutch to start otherwise thats it, 1987 model, with mechanical fuel shut off. Its just too large/heavy for most of my chores. I also use this L2501 to mow the lawn, I use it almost everyday.

Looking at the wiring diagram, the thought has occurred to me to just provide the run solenoid with what it wants, and in doing so, bypassing EVERYTHING. Im ok with safety features, WHEN THEY WORK...

Yes, Ive played with this, 9 was to Sunday. Tried the zip tie work around, the module looks for the cycling of the switch, as in , they designed to not allow you to tie it down with a zip tie.

What is the logic used to detect a tied down switch? When does it have to cycle to satisfy the sanity test? I can start my L3901 from cold standing on the ground with the switch open.

Lets assume the first cycle of the switch from open to operator present simply arms the ECM shutdown logic. So tie it down with a zip tie. Then first thing you do from cold is flip the seat forward, slide the zip tie back to open the switch then back to tie it down. ECM thinks you just got off and back on and as ling as that zip tie is not moved you never got off.
