I've got something that sounds like a fuel issue.
I had my B7100 sitting on a slight angle for a few minutes, running just a bit above idle. All the sudden it died. it would start but not go to full throttle.
Next day I picked up a fuel filter, changed it and it started right up. I put it away for the night.
Next day, it started fine, so I started mowing. After about 10 minutes it started losing power.
I took the tank off and found something I couldn't identify and a rubber gasket.
I cleaned the tank and checked all the fuel lines. They were clear. Put it back together, bled the air from the lines at the injectors and it started.
And it ran, for about 10 minutes.
I read about o-rings on the fuel filter (the one I bought came without one). I bought a new filter with o-rings and put it on.
It started and idled for quite a while so I started mowing. About 10 minutes in, same thing.
The only thing I read about and haven't done is install new rubber fuel lines.
Also changed the air filter just because.

Check the return line from the pump to the tank too - if that cannot flow freely your engine will stall and die.

You probably have a vented cap on your fuel tank. If the vent is clogged the partial vacuum will slow or stop fuel flow.

A good sign of that would be a tank that has been sucked in a bit too!

Hi all.

I'm the original poster and I was able to fix this tractor and thought i'd share what i found.

The tractor would start and run for a few minutes, then power down, as if it was getting air in the fuel.

i was really frustrated with the problem. Nothing made sense. So I left it alone for quite some time.

One day i thought i'd start all over. fuel tank, lines, filter...hold up! i grabbed the fuel filter bowl and it was loose and i was able to pull it off.

For some reason, the filter bowl had shrunk. i suppose when i first had the problem, it had started to shrink enough to let air infiltration in the fuel system but not enough to be noticeable by inspection.

Never suspected this. But now the little tractor is back in action and i'm sure my neighbors are glad i am mowing down the jungle my field behind their houses had become!
