Here's today's progress (day 1)

There's a picture of the slope looking up at the home. The area of grass & plants is home to a septic drain field, with the tank up in the left side towards the back of the home.
I thought the owner had said the drain field was in the planted garden area closer to the house.

If you look close at the culvert pipe that I connected to the existing pipe, it's wet (and smelly) in the dig-out.
With the slope of the property, and the seeping of the (probable) effluent from the septic drain field, the owner and I agreed that a definitive location of the drain/leech field would be prudent before digging up the grassy area and creating parking for two vehicles.

There's also a picture of how 60' of 12" culvert pipe ALMOST reaches 62' between the existing pipe! :)

Culvert is placed and covered with 3/4 minus.

Now, wait for septic system survey next week, and then we're putting in the retaining wall along the face of the slope and finishing up the street parking with more fill and leveling.

There's a steep grassy driveway that I'll also be scraping down about 8" and laying rip-rap and 3/4 minus on to give the owner traction and use in the wet season up here in WA (September - June) :)

Put some time on the flail mower today at home. For some reason the woods on one side get full of overgrown grass and weeds, while the other side just gets little saplings. I'm really happy how the flail mower can do a halfway decent cut on the grass and still be brought through the saplings and brush.

What brand and size of flail mower did you buy?

2nd time ever for my babylove running Big Orange, she unloaded and assembled a rotisserie from my trailer and did a truly outstanding job. Rotisserie is huge it is for my 69 Camaro SS to go on to start my dream retirement project. As I was gone all day to go get the rotisserie, for 2nd time ever she also cut 80% of the yard with the 2500 Toro Zero turn mower. Now if I can get her to take over that whole grass cutting project maybe she would step up to the bush hogging

It is the 48" chinesium one from Betstco, FH-EFGC125. It has hammer blades and cuts grass incredibly well for being able to handle 3" brush (supposedly, I haven't tried it on 3" myself).

That's exactly what i need. I'm fighting a losing battle with the poplars. Thanks.

Started working on leveling the area I park my trailer. First pass but its much better than before. This rock was more than i could lift fully but i was able to get it high enough to move easy enough. Im not sure the pic does the rock justice.

That is a MONSTER rock! At one point I heard somebody call rocks like that "a sex rock". (It's a big "F*****G" rock...)

I've got a couple giants, I'm able to move 2 of them relatively easily. One of them can't lift with the forks, I need to strap it into the bucket as close to the pin as I can and use the roll to get it a couple inches off the ground. But my rock looks a whole lot smaller than your rock. I'm not sure how you do it.

Honestly i was really impressed the 2650 was able to dig it out of the ground. It wasnt really digging. More of catching a tooth on it and pushing it out of the ground. Only a tiny piece of it was showing. Thats the biggest yet . The rock left a snail trail moving it since between the forks was still touching the ground. Ive never tried the strap method. With my luck it would end poorly. Lol

Well today, I spent 2 hours with an angle grinder and cut off disk cutting about 6 feet of woven fence out of the mower deck. Figured I would mow a little bit down to where a downed cherry tree was ,you know less stuff to wade through when I cut it up. What a mess, lots of naughty words and bloody fingers,, But its all good, now if I got all those little pieces of wire picked up, so I dont run over them

That is just a pebble. In CT, we grow them 2 or 3 times that size, and it always seems that they are under the pavement, and the frost heaves them up every winter. When we built our home, some of the rocks coming out of the cellar hole were so large, that even the D8 had a difficult time pushing them out. That was 35 years ago, before they dug cellar holes with excavators.

Got tired of lugging 5 gallon buckets of water to every corner of the property for the plants the wife likes to plant out of hose reach.

So, I used the tractor for lugging 55 gallons at a time.

That doesn't sound like a lot of fun. Sometimes you just don't know what you are going to get in to. I fell a lot of trees for a friend and some of the are close to the edge of fields, always wonder if I'm going to find some wire.

Hope you have better luck if you cut more around the tree.

Might not be the correct place, but tried out my new Box blade on the driveway of our vacation getaway to try and smooth out one rough area. Definitely made it worse, too many big rocks. Driveway is 1/4 mile easy with 100 ft bad spot from washout.
Box blade and tractor worked great. Broke one of the four scarifier blades in half after first hour.lol

Have to give a shout out to Messicks. I ordered a new scarifier yesterday morning and it hit my front porch at 0945 this morning. Very impressive. There is a dealer I go to about 40 minutes each way but I will not be up there for a week.
With fuel prices $14 shipping is nothing.
Cheers J

These B2650s can move some pretty heavy stuff. I think this is the biggest piece I've tackled lately. Had a whole wall to haul away.
