We took a long weekend to go camping which meant moving the Hawk horse trailer out of the way to get to the travel trailer and then putting the Hawk back in place and moving the Winnebago back in place upon return.

I used the receiver mount in the pallet fork frame (one of the reasons I got the forks) and one of my adjustable hitches for the truck.......horse trailer was a breeze.

Then when we returned I pulled the Ram down the driveway with the TT and just dumped the TT, pulled the WDH and grabbed it with the tractor and flipped it around and backed it in without issue.

The empty hitch weight on the TT is 420lbs so loaded I was probably only in the mid 500lbs range.

The 2601 did great......put in Low, 4WD and went slow. The key was really going light on the stick to keep things moving slowly and gently with the hydraulics, as you can really whip the trailers up and down pretty good with full speed on the stick.

Success.

Today, 2000lbs of flooring drop shipped on pallets at the top of the 550' gravel drive. We will split it up into 3 pallet loads and bring it down to the house.

I love it except........

Don't put your chainsaw in the bucket and forget that it is there because.....Bad things can happen. :(
I forgot a chain in my bucket once . Sure enough I filled the bucket with dirt. Didn’t see the chain till I dumped it.

This morning I was able to clear a strip of land that is about 25" wide and 300' long from tree roots that were semi surface rooted. We tried for a few days using shovels, axe and pry bar and lasted an hour before the heat would get us. My tractor was in for some service of leaky connections. B2601 arrived back fixed and I installed the Land Pride Root Grapple I bought for it and went back to the strip of field and ran the roots right out of the ground. We still needed the axe in some cases, but that grapple did a great job. Saved us days, maybe weeks of work removing huge 3", 4" and some 5" roots that prevented me from running the mower over. Now that section of field is nice and smooth and easy to ride over!

Okay I finished the riprap for now. I also realize that if my wife is going to operate the bucket She has to have instructions. So I bought Kiote FEL knob and put it on the Kubota. It was simple with a dead blow hammer and towel. Perfect fit—thanks to a OTT forum. And as many of you know and sent blessings my daughter is doing great after 23 days on a ventilator and 36 days in the hospital. Thanks for your prayers. Her and my son (maybe the youngest NCAA baseball umpire ever at 20) eating out this weekend.

60' of 12" culvert to lay
498 retaining wall blocks to place for a 2 car parking spot on a sloped hill

75 miles away!

Here's today's progress (day 1)

There's a picture of the slope looking up at the home. The area of grass & plants is home to a septic drain field, with the tank up in the left side towards the back of the home.
I thought the owner had said the drain field was in the planted garden area closer to the house.

If you look close at the culvert pipe that I connected to the existing pipe, it's wet (and smelly) in the dig-out.
With the slope of the property, and the seeping of the (probable) effluent from the septic drain field, the owner and I agreed that a definitive location of the drain/leech field would be prudent before digging up the grassy area and creating parking for two vehicles.

There's also a picture of how 60' of 12" culvert pipe ALMOST reaches 62' between the existing pipe! :)

So.......the "2000lbs of flooring" my wife ordered for the basement project turned out to be more like 2900lbs.

The 2601 couldn't lift the smallest pallet off the truck which was 950lbs, which isn't surprising as the pallet forks themselves weigh 150lbs or so and lift at that height is ~988lbs I think.

The second pallet was a beast at 1950lbs.

We were able to use the lift gate to get the smaller pallet down then I used the forks to drag it off easily.

The second pallet needed to be broken down.

To get the flooring to the basement I had to drive them around my "tractor road" to the walk out and that included a section of mild but steep enough slope off the driveway.......we determined that 8-10 boxes was "good" on the forks and I backed down........

Fun stuff.........

Scrapped an old hillside today. Full of weeds and forysinthia. She says the rocks I uncovered will now be 'features' in the new hillside garden:love:

Dave, I had a screen full of grass seed while brush cutting, late in the day, tired, and over it. I failed to turn off the engine, as i removed the screen, 90% of its contents were sucked directly into the radiator! im like omg im such an idiot. Luckily had one of those radiator cleaner wands and used an additional 30 minutes of my life fixing that lol

Ha! Sometimes we just have to laugh at ourselves when things like that happen, don't we?

Today, I finished mowing a long grassy area between two sets of windbreak trees along the field. Hardly and acre of grass, at the very most. Haven't had any rain. Dry as can be out. Cottonwood tree seeds covering the ground. As I mowed, the exhaust diverter that turns the exhaust downward and toward the front (and that everybody loves) was stirring up all that seed and swirling it in front of the tractor to be sucked into the screen again. Had to stop and clean the radiator screen every five minutes to prevent over heating! A gentle rain will mush that seed down and prevent it from becoming airborne. Until that happens it's a frustrating "stop and go" ordeal when mowing here.

At least the circular orange glow on my shop floor is now almost imperceptible! :ROFLMAO:

Move rocks from one spot to another.

It would appear that is what I was born for, my calling in life.

Works for me, not one of those rocks has ever moved back again nor even complained.

Tried out my 1 hour old Land Pride Box Blade. Did three runs slow down the rocky driveway, and broke one of the scarifies right off. Big rock. My fault.
Anyone have a good source for the Scarifier for LP 48 inch BB??
thanks

Filled my Polaris Ranger up about 20 times to move dirt for our raised bed boxes. Daughter helped get the dirt out of the Ranger.

Yes, we are planting late compared to a lot of areas, but just right for our area. Just past the predicted last freeze.

Loaded up the landplane on trailer as I have to travel up the road a little for drive maintenance. Kind of a PITA to remove ballast box and attach LP, then reverse when done. I should just invest in a QH

Mowed last night and temperature gauge was a little squirrelly to the hot side.

Today, sprayed radiator out with garden hose, and then greased the mower deck.

Also cleaned spade connection for temperature sending unit. Seems better.

I don’t think it was getting hot, but like motionclone’s message in another thread yesterday, always start with the simple stuff….

Last Saturday was the’Moline’s turn for attention. Still covered this weekend.

Something you might want to consider doing to that QH.

See post #9086 in this thread. The sharp corners on the hooks ten do make it hang up on everything instead of making connections easier as it should. What I did to mine made a world of difference. I rarely have to get off the tractor now. Probably wouldn't be quite so bad with a tractor the size of yours, but climbing up and down on a LX2610SU is hard on the knees and lower back.
