Hey all, here's my latest video (yes - we need chaps/chainsaw pants). It's getting warmer so its starting to be a lot more fun to be outside obviously ... for those rainy days ... I just took possession of a 2021 Kubota KX-040-4GTA with cab & 6-way blade. I'll post something up again in a few days for those who like excavator stuff too. Cheers.

I don't get it. You take all day to make a video about taking down one tree? New form of tractor porn?

I have a great idea...start videoing government workers standing around at construction sites watch one guy use a shovel.

The video was not only about the tree removal, it was also about gaining subscribers, views, and building a monetized YouTube channel. It takes much time, effort, dedication, and equipment.

I did not bother watching it.

It it sounded sorta like a “this is how I tied my shoes this morning“ video...

Guess I am not a card carrying member of the Information Age. LOL

AND no, I don’t care about helping someone monetize a channel that more or less shows me how to tie my shoes...LOLx2

But not having watched the video, what do I know?

I am sorry. And this will sound mean but I watched what I could of it then skipped ahead as it played out. I found it not to be very useful.

I just do not need to watch someone drive over some wooden planks so he would not get stuck.

The hole thing was very amateurish.

Thanks to those who watched it! We're all having a great time with the channel and creating content. As with most things - it's not for everyone. I'm fine with that. Take care folks and have a great weekend.

Oh please, please, please, please, PLEASE be my friend!

Buddy's odds of getting rich making youtube videos are about as good as winning a million playing the slots at a second rate casino on the reserve.

I think I must be getting old. I don't get off on watching youtube videos of people eating along with other weird stuff.

ok boomer..haha

The reality is nobody really asked what you think his odds of getting rich are or whether or not you get off watching youtube videos of people, its not about YOU.

Some people do like watching this stuff. Some people observe and learn things from others.

I watched half of the video, wondering why he went through so much effort to cut down a tree. Plus with the backhoe he could have loosened the roots might have taken it all out at once.

I have spent more time watching tractor related videos than I care to admit. From professional glossy well done productions to very crude short 10 second clips. My goal other than entertainment is to learn something from each. It takes considerable effort and time to post videos and hope you keep at it James!
After watching your video I think I accomplished both of my goals. :)

Not wanting to be a cynic but.....
You never use a ladder to go up a tree to tie on a rope. That is right up there with 'hold my beer'. You toss (or use a sling shot) a weight with a nylon cord over a branch and around the trunk then attach the cord to a rope and pull it around the tree. Two minutes and no dangerous ladder work.
The rope up on the poplar to the pulley (good to have the tree go the opposite way of your equipment), one guy on the tractor, applying tension, another cutting at a standing position (do the low cut after the tree is down). As the cut progresses, the tractor pulls. No need for a winch unless it is a 'one man show'.
Insofar as the video, I saw too much needless 'prep' (like moving your trailer). Voice over while the work is being done to explain it.

I agree on the slingshot with weighted bag. It is very effective at getting the string, and subsequent rope up high, safely. I saw the extension ladder come out and was like "omg..."

Although, was a strap even needed, why not just aim accordingly and chainsaw it down?

All of these poplar trees I`m trying to remove are next to a 12,000 volt power corridor. I`m pre-loading them to make sure they fall away from the phase/neutral overhead wire. I'm so sorry I never included that valuable piece of information in the video - my bad. Thanks again all!

looks like lib-dems read OTT due to the lack of "its all good" feedback on TBN.

Sorry I didn't realize that posts on OTT are not meant to get feedback. Thankfully you are on the job as social media police-person. I can't call you a policeman because that's sexist.
