Path to woodshed in winter with BX2822A 55" Commercial Front Snowblower

I'm a soon to be new B2601 owner and did order the 55" commercial snow blower. Do you think I'll be able to make these paths with the B2601 on my lawn? I use these paths to haul wood to the house for heat in the winter. I'm debating selling my walk behind Snowblower if the B2601 could cut the paths on the lawn.

My Kubota front mount snowblower did very well clearing off grass to park my trailers.
You're gonna need more snow than that.

Thank you... Only picture I could find. There is a really easy grade and I'm hoping the all-wheel can drive push that blower up the grade.

I have a 2601 with the 48" Commerical bower and I can attest it will do that without thinking about it.

Since I have a gravel drive my blower shoes are up as high as they would go.....that could be an option but if your driveway is paved you will want the shoes set fairly low, so the advice above about maybe keeping it in a "skimming" height with the hydraulics will be the ticket.

The one caveat would be to watch yourself on the grass until i freezes up well. 2601 is a little heavier than your walk behind.

So it seems as though a base of snow my tractor will get traction on with the turf tires. With my tiny little John Deere home Depot tractor I needed to be down to grass to get traction and bring firewood up. Do you think I will need chains or try with just the turfs the first year.

Not familiar with CT winters, if walk behind worked without issues, something heavier with 4wd should be OK. You may want 1 1/2" to 2" wheel spacers to provide clearance for chains. Does dealer stock chains? If so they would my source of advise.

I blow my driveway in NH with Turfs, no chains up a pretty darn steep grade. My rear tires are loaded and I also have a rear blade on for additional snow clearing options which adds a little more weight out back.

4wd combined with the fact you are blowing and clearing the snow in front of you provides for a decent path to drive on. If I were plowing and trying to "push" the snow I would be running chains.

The JD770 I just traded in on the LX did my north south 1/4 mile drive on the edge of the Gaylord, MI. snowbelt for 23 years. Just turfs and loaded rears. Turfs are great in the snow.

Get a pair of these skids for your snow blower. Worth their weight in gold, from what I have been told by people that have used them. I have never needed them, because i have a paved driveway, and use turf tires without any issues. I put chains on my tractor only once, and took them off within 5 minutes of clearing snow. Didn't care for the bumpy ride, and even though the snow was high, and I thought that I might need them, in the end, I didn't.

I used to blow snow on grass the first year I got my BX (front mount 50" blower) and had no trouble cutting a path through the field from the barn to the driveway in snow that was 18" deep or so. I couldn't stand the chains so added my own screw in studs to the tires which were awesome. Once I had my driveway asphalted I removed the studs since they would chew up the asphalt.
