2016 bx25d. alternator failed, battery died, tach and hour meter stopped working. Replaced alternator with new but tach and hour meter did not come back to operation. Turning key to on the tach needle goes to full and back to 0 as normal hour meter and other cluster indicators all do normal start checks but after starting engine tach remains at 0 and hour meter does not advance. checked connectors but not change. Any suggestions welcome.

The following check is for a tractor similar to yours.
The test has you checking the output voltage on the terminal which provides a signal to the tach and hour meter. What you do not see but which is happening is that the output voltage is pulsing which the tach uses to determine the engine rpms'

Ok. No dc volts measured at #6 pin. Also battery gives 12.2 volts running or off. maybe should take that alternator back.
You do not mention the battery charge light . Is it coming ON when the key is turn to On and going out when the tractor starts?
Have you checked all fuses...... not just visually but with a meter?
Alternators need a power signal to tell them to start producing power.

Yes, charge light and all other panel lights flash on prior to start then go out as normal operation. As mentioned the tach needle and hour meter also cycle through normal key on check. All fuses checked good visually and by ohms test at 0 resistance.
I have the alternator of the machine and will take to the local shop to be checked tomorrow. your tips are informative, thanks
