The orange rubber handle on the end of my throttle lever always comes loose and then comes off when pulled or pushed up or down. I bought a new handle but it did not come with installation instructions. I just pushed it on as hard as I could but it still rotated and came off. I don't know if I should use loctite or maybe, wrap metal lever with double faced tape, fill handle with lighter fluid and push on or use epoxy glue. Does anyone have a similar issue or know how to install? The lever is hard to move up and down and I don't know if that is normal or not either. Thanks.

If you have a golfer friend who maybe regrips his own clubs you are in luck. Doubled sided golf tape, use a bit of mineral spirits in the orange handle and then dump it out just prior to sliding on. Let it dry and you are good to go. My BX23 is the same, hasn't come off yet but it's gonna sooner or later.

I also did it many years ago on a set of old golf clubs. Bought new grips, wrapped with double sided tape, filled the grip with lighter fluid, dumped it out and slid the grip on. Worked great. I wasn't sure if i could ever get it out so tonuight, I put a little 2 part epoxy on the grip and slid it on. See how it works. PS watch out because it may come off in your hand when you least expect it......

There is an adjustment if you remove the screen. I believe you can loosen a nut or just lubricate the mechanism some. Don't get it to loose or throttle will not maintain its position.

I've used hairspray! Clean the lever and inside of the knob. Spray inside the knob and shove it on firmly. Let set for a day. I've also used 3M Weathersrtip adhesive. But unless you have other uses for it, a tube, once opened does not age well.

I'll have to check that out and see what the screen is. I recently bought a manual which is great for troubleshooting electrical issues. Your right about getting it too loose and it won't hold position, but mine is so tight I usually hit it with my hand to move it.

Hairspray - how did you come by that! Is that a picture of you as the "Fonz"? I wish I had known that, I defintely would have tried it. So far the dab of 2 part epoxy works great. I hasn't moved a bit.

The screen I am referring to is the black screen with the black knob just below the steering wheel. This area also houses the tractor battery, fuse box, etc., etc..

What are MC grips?
Motor cycle (MC) grips and bicycle grips are installed on handle bars and need to stay in place rotationally and axially. Hair spray lubricates when wet and sticky when dry. It drys under the rubber grip so is fairly perfect in situations that are fairly tight but may need to be removed in the future

Interesting. Last week I was trying to take parts off an old bicycle and to put on another old bicycle for my grandson. I could not get the old grips off the one bike and to install on the other. They were soft rubber grips. I even tried a small pipe wrench and they wouldn't budget.

I am big in to motorcycles, hairspray is commonly used to attach grips to bars. Often, all that is needed is just a little extra stiction.

To remove grips, use compressed air. Sometime you can blow in through the opposite bar, sometimes, if you blow in at the inside edge, it will 'float' the grip off. Sometime, you have to razor knife it off it is firmly bonded to the bar.

Another trick on grips is to put a properly sized coin or washer into the grip so the handle bar (edge of the tube) won’t cut through the grip. Or in more serious events the bar won’t cut a circular plug into anyone’s flesh in a wreck
