Replacing L2900

Why upgrade? Is the L2900 not 4x4? With new, you'll have to deal with DPF / emission crap / computer. What's wrong with the L2900 that you have to upgrade???
Every time I turn around I am having major repair issues with the L2900. Looking for reliability.
L3901 would be logical.
L2501 not enough HP if you need 30HP at the PTO, but if you can live with 25HP machine (that has a lot of torque - it's a big engine that's been detuned), then the L2501 is a great option.
MX5400 would be excellent.
Grand L if you want a cab.
What are you doing with it other than running that seed drill? You don't need an HST for running a drill. But if you're doing loader work, mowing, snow work then it makes sense.

If you do not NEED the added power or weight and your goal is reliability the L2501 can be a great choice. It is just under the 25 horsepower limit so it has no on board computer and no diesel particulate filter. The larger tractors with the DPF can be trouble free but some can become real nightmares. You pays your money and you takes your chances.
Loader, rear mower and bush hog, an L2501 is fine. Bush hog you need to be careful how fast you can go in heavy mowing. No L model takes a MMM (no centre PTO). So I guess the question is how important a seed drill is to you.
TBH, if it were me I'd get the 3901, since I don't worry about DPF as much as others do, and I like HP. But if that's a worry for you, lots of people are very very happy with L2501.

I’d 2nd the L3901 recommendation. I want a minimum of 25 hp at pto. Only reason for you to move to MX is loader capacity.
Would you consider used and a road trip? I'm in West Central IL and possibly looking to sell my 2018 L3901. It's been a great tractor, but I just went from 120 acres and 8 acres of food plots to 450 acres and 30 acres of food plots and I need a bigger machine. The machine has a FEL with a grapple (amazing piece of equipment) and a 3rd function remote. If you have any interest let me know and we can exchange info and discuss it further.
