Yes this is one of those "WTH is wrong with this guy" questions. :)
I used my FEL this weekend for moving dirt in my neighbors yard. Boy what fun!! Anyway I inflated my front tires to the max on the tire which is 36 PSI. The manual says 17 PSI for turf. There is a note that says maintain max tire pressure when using FEL.
I assumed the max tire pressure is what is on the sidewall of the tire, thats quite a difference. I was just curious if I did the right thing.

wow. 36 psi must have been a rough ride. I think I used to run 22 psi in the fronts of my BX when I had it.

Manual overrides what's on the tire! Ensure that your gauge is accurate.
Thats where the confusion for me came in. It should say 17 psi max pressure and leave it at that. The fact it has a separate note that mentions the FEL and max pressure made me wonder. Thanks!

Just know that if you constantly run them plump with air, you'll likely wear the centers out much more quickly than the tread nearest the sidewalls. Especially if you frequent pavement.

I replaced front tires on my old BX twice as fast as the rears...

You are doing it correct, Page 39 of the manual says
NOTE
Maintain the maximum pressure in front tires, if using
a front loader or when equipped with a full load of front
weight.
on my 1870 I always add air before playing with weight in the loader.
You do not want to break a bead when you have 400lbs in the bucket, depending on the situation and rear ballast you could be in for a wild ride.

If you do not have convent access to an air compressor I would probably leave them at 25 or so. It all depends on how often you are using the tractor as a loader vs a mower.

OK
Check your front end loader manual to see what it recommends for tire pressure. It usually is the same as the tractor manual.

I don't have a BX but on my LX I am around 20 psi in the front tires when mowing or doing work with rear implements (comfort setting). If I'm doing anything with the loader I increase the front tires to their max rating (34 psi).

FrozenOJ is absolutely correct. It's a PITA to constantly adjust air pressure, but if you're loading the tires to max load rating, (full buckets of gravel) they should be at max sidewall pressure... period. Then let the air out to go mowing if you want proper handling and tire wear.

For the Maximum air pressure spec, go by what is on the tire. The manual does not know if you have a loader or not, which brand of tire you have, and is just a general operation guide.

It makes little difference (at least in my situation) as my Owners Manual recommends 29 psi in the front tires... and the tire mfr’s max listed on the sidewall is 32 psi. (I have 9.5-22 front tires)

Thanks everyone
I thought I was doing it correctly. "I wish the manual said max tire pressure listed on the tire" or something like that.
