Huh? Not sure where you got that from? Ain't no way it lifts 2600lbs. Not even half that....more like 1100.
Fat fingered it, sorry. 1600 before you subtract bucket and boom.

Too narrow and light. Get a 60" BB.

Regarding the other post about bucket size...get the 60" and add a tooth bar. The tractor will lift a full 60" bucket with whatever material will fit in it (if you have enough rear ballast). You don't always have to fill it entirely if you don't want to. Other than the bolt on cutting edge available for the 54", both buckets are of the same construction.

My $0.02

My apologies to all if this response sounds too harsh...Maybe some SCF has rubbed off on me.
No apologies needed or expected for anything I read.

Definitely get at least 60" box blade, if not 72". I've hung my 48" behind a few roots that stopped it, but have yet to stall it with just plain dirt. I think it would pull a 72" blade just fine.

Damn. I was hoping that there was some secret that I hadn't learned yet ;)...anyway, wasn't trying to be snarky.

EA makes a 60 inch BB (the one I have) with only 4 ripper shanks. They claim that it was designed that way with B series in mind (for limited tractor weight and hp). It works well, but sometimes have to take a few more passes with it to rip because the shanks are set about a foot apart.

Stay safe down there tonight. Company I work for is located in Baton Rouge. Not sure if they already got clobbered.

Thanks for the well wishes. Didn't take your comment as snarky at all. I live with an Aussie. Snarky is a way of life. Just pointed out some of my fine typing. I spell with a lot of backspaces.

Yeah, my 48 has 4 rippers, and they do a pretty good job, though tend to clog up a bit with smaller stuff that won't turn between them. Turns it more into a root rake when that happens, so I'm not arguing. Sometimes I only put the middle two down. The LX is supposedly a bit heavier than the B, or at least that's what I was told. Probably not by much, though, and probably not as heavy as a B CAB model. I don't have the specs for the B to know for certain. The only disadvantage I have encountered with the big tires on the SU is that I had to change the lift link positioning on the arms. The oversize tires wouldn't let my blade down far enough to maintain contact with the lift fully down, and simply didn't cut very deep, rippers or no, but they certainly make the tractor feel like a beast. VERY stable. Doesn't matter how much the tractor or box blade weighs or how wide the blade is if the tractor's holding it up, though. Moving the lift links takes away a little of the 3PH lift capacity, but I don't have anything heavier than the WC-68. (yet). I can still pick that up just fine. Gave me a lot more down-travel on the lift.
