Whatever he did... I believe our moderator has good judgement and a good sense of fairness. It was probably best for the forums...and I’m sorry he can’t play well with others... but I don’t really miss him.
I didn't realize he was gone until I read this. He was on my ignore list anyway. Always deriding others and confrontational and knew a lot about everything and knew the solution to any problem.
He's over on TBN enlightening everyone now.

....Hard to get me riled up until someone starts with name calling or finger pointing........
Which is odd because you called me a jerk just last week and I hadn't called you anything.

SCF wished Covid and financial ruin on me AND my family - a real class act there. He cold have left the famiy out of it.

Yea, I've only been on these forums like a year and a half off and on, and Sidecar was one person I had several run ins with. He was quick to respond to something, with often inaccurate or wrong advice I felt, but I've seen others give what I felt was poor advice. I think what got him banned though was his aggressiveness and boastful nature. I think he likely had multiple warnings in PM's from moderators. The mods seem to be pretty strict here. I've had posts flagged when I felt they were totally benign. I kind of stopped engaging much on here though. I drop in now maybe just a few times a month. So yea, sidecar came off to me as someone who was very insecure. He could be a jerk, boastful, full of himself, etc. On top of that the mods are kind of strict so I'm not surprised he was banned.

All forums can turn into a grade school recess free for all if you let them. If you'd just ignore what upsets you and move on without responding, the majority of hurt feelings would go away.
If you take the bait, it's as much your fault as the other guy.
Just move on.

The mods do a good job at keeping things on a square and level keel here, and yes he had more then one time out due to his arbitrary and capricious nature. And aggressive posturing. So no the mods are not real strict just understanding of the people on the board. And old SCF pushed it to the limits,, just MHO you understand

You are absolutely correct. I haven’t posted anything anywhere for very long and it took me longer than it should have to realize what you suggest is true online even though I’ve been pretty good at practicing it in real life. I got in the habit of catching up here late at night and read some lengthy thread about trailers that I rightly or wrongly interpreted as saying if you don’t have a Professional Engineer stamp and a Master’s Degree in some sort of engineering you shouldn’t be allowed to weld two pieces of metal together. I reacted poorly (accurately but poorly). After getting some reactions and reviewing my post the next day I self banned myself from posting after 11pm. So far that’s helped. (And the mods didn’t say anything but wouldn’t have blamed them if they did.)

Just for the record, I didn't ban SCF personally, The owner of the forum beat me to it! ;)

Things that got him banned:
Demeaning and insulative comments to everyone one time or another, political ranting over and over again, breaking every forum rule at least twice, and yes him always having the biggest and best probably didn't help his case.

I also would bet the forum owner can see how may people had him on their ignore list and wanted to help clean that list up!

And you all probably don't remember or didn't read, but he said you can't ban me I'll just come back with a different name... well he's tried to come back and I catch him every time. :p

Adults in age or maturity? When someone has a habit of belittling others and insulting with name calling, if one does not speak against it there is no stopping by the offender.

If life was so simple there would be no bullying in the world and there would not be the political divide we see in this country.

I thought we agreed to disagree and just leave each other alone? I said you were 'being a jerk' with your implications, not that you are one. There really is a difference. I don't know you well enough to make a judgement of your overall character, but I can spot someone acting like a jerk pretty quickly. My grandkids act like they're stupid sometimes, but I know them well enough to say they are not stupid. All of 'em are pretty darn smart, actually. They just act stupid sometimes, and whine that I called them stupid when I simply asked them to stop behaving like they were. We all have those days, and I was certainly ready to be a jerk toward FedEx and BXPanded for the damage done to my property. Both responsible for it, regardless of your easy going nature and apparent lack of concern for the appearance of my property.

I still read a lot of your posts, because I feel you're an otherwise knowledgeable person, especially when you're not discounting someone else's property losses. I don't see that to be much less than saying your better than me because you can rise above the loss, which I think is what this thread is actually about concerning someone else, but that's just a personal observation. But, because you bid me adieu, I don't normally respond to your posts, because I thought you wanted me to just go away if you don't directly address me, though I would like to respond sometimes. As you can see, I've paid for my membership, so I don't think I'll just go away. Wolfy will have to toss me out on my ear, which I don't believe he will do without good reason. I am pretty good at leaving folks alone when I'm asked to. Something I learned to do very well growing up in a children's home, the hard way.

Sadly, I think the two of us both have a lot of knowledge to offer and notes to compare with experiences, but we seem to have gotten off on the wrong foot because of my rant about my losses, and your complete disregard for my major inconvenience that is certainly part of the quality of the product and it's manufacturer. I'll apologize for saying you were "BEING a jerk" in anticipation of you apologizing for discounting my losses. They weren't yours to discount. If you don't care what the front of your house looks like, well, neither do I. But if you do, I'll do my utmost to protect it better than you do if I'm ever on your property. That's just the way I was raised, and I don't feel that mutual respect is too much to ask. I try not to discount someone's losses, not even for a quarter lost in the bubble gum machine. It's their quarter, not mine. I didn't say I give two spits about whether or not I offend someone, though. It doesn't take much to do that these days, and more often than not, anyone that speaks what they think will offend SOMEONE.

Despite our differences, I'd never wish pestilence or ill will toward you. I don't know you well enough to want to, and if I did, I'd probably just prefer to leave you alone. Trust me, I'm good at it. Funny part is, I don't even know you well enough to want to leave you alone yet.

SCF sounds like a class act. What class, or what act might be debatable amongst those that know him a lot better than I do. I just never met him nor had occasion to swap words with him. I got to see a few of his posts before they were deleted, and they all seemed to be genuine help offerings, but it's probably because I'm pretty selective about what I read in here. I rarely pay attention to WHO posted something so much as the content and whether or not I think I have something to offer. Apparently many have made SCF's mistakes at their own peril. There's one in every crowd, if only temporarily. Oft times, when that one is purged, another one rises. Someone made a very valid statement, that the "Holier than Thou" know-it-all dude doesn't survive. I ran a BBS for nearly 8 years, and I watched many a person get roasted when roasting was acceptable, and all but ridden out of town on a pole after being tarred and feathered. I can't help but believe that Wolfy had enough complaints to do what he did. His forum, his rules. I can deal with it. I'm sure there's no coincidence with his moniker. Moderators/Sysops whatever you want to call them these days, aren't that different from when I was running a BBS. I learned to keep my personality out of it, and go strictly by the rules. They were few, and largely were pointed at mutual respect of other humans. Didn't say you couldn't offend them, but what they did with the offense is what was watched. Can't make a right with two wrongs, and it'll take three lefts to do it.

I'm gonna disagree with this a bit - where I do agree we need to ignore some stuff and put our big boy pants on sometimes, but I am a paaaayyying member here, why did I pay? Well - I thought it was the correct thing to do - and hell, that bumper sticker was gonna be cool on my new tractor!!! (still waiting for that 8 years later!:ROFLMAO:) and no - I did not pay to eliminate ads.... I never had them before nor now.

And as a paying member - I don't want to read nor hear a person that is knowledgeable, but at the same time puts down people by calling them out or bragging about this or that..... if one has to brag or boast or put down someone else to rise above, that person is low to begin with.

I respect people that know stuff - their experience is priceless and hugely beneficial - and there a lot, a lot of smart people here - I look at the poster, and if he/she is someone I trust - I read the post verbatim. because THEY are trying to help. Others just say RTFM (look it up for those that have not heard it) and I understand the manual part..... but really - this is the best answer for someone that just popped in as a new member? Read the book --- read the book!

Sometimes I will spend 20 minutes trying to find the exact piece of info on a subject matter ...... and post it, I guess I am guilty of being a teacherologist! But then again - I may find something and due to doing goood research, the info was not correct - but I did try......... yeah I know - good intentions pave the road to hell.

Sometimes the male machismo kicks in and we have to remember that testosterone is a wild and crazy hormone. I call it a pissing contest - and yes there is plenty of marks high on the wall!

Now every now and again we pick on one another - but in jest and trying to just get a smile out of someone else...... all in good fun.

Words on a screen have a wide meaning, sometimes hard to see the true meaning- because there is no emotion that comes with it!!

My wife can call me an asshole in two ways....... one with a smile and one without! One is hateful and one is not... and we are all guilty of doing that here and in life - but the difference is when someone is taken back by the comment, one needs to back up and say .... sorry, that came out wrong.

I too left this place for a while, got really tired of those that had to prove themselves with info - not necessarily knowledge - just good ol fashion bullshit. But my common sense and an educational background said "if you like the people - do what you can to learn and give back"

But when someone continues to bend the hell out of the line, runs over it with a bulldozer after the line has been clearly repainted - I really don't have issue with the results.

Coach and NIW have a job to do - and I cannot even begin to understand the constant strain they are under to smooth out the wrinkles here, but they do a damn good job! NIW has looked over certain posts and basically said..... the line is near, please stay clear and most do.

But to have a free-for-all and pissing contests over the littlest things .... is not my idea of a great place to visit daily..... (ok - hourly !)

So..... agree or disagree with what has happened......... we are here for one reason, to help those that want, need information on those orange machines that every now and again stop doing as they should.

Ahhhh, it was a simple misunderstanding then. I wasn't discountig your "property loss". I didn't see a scratch on the plastic walking surface outside a house as damage and surely not loss.

I was discounting the book you wrote about it. Sorry for my observation, but I will stick with it. Life is too short.

In the end it will be as it was intended.

Pretty much, that's exactly what it was. Our difference of opinion about what is damage and what is not probably caused it.
