You mean like the "PZEV" on the back end of a Subuaru? It Stands for "Partial Zero Emission Vehicle". Now what kind of crap is that?
I could make some comparative analogies, but the moderators might not like it. :ROFLMAO:

Just breakout the beeswax candles and the whale oil lanterns and the the earth will be saved.

And all of you that are burning wood to heat your homes need to stop!!! You are tree killers and all that pollution that comes out of your unregulated chimneys must stop!!

I am buying up all the freight wagons and mules that I can find for my new freight business. Any muleskinners want a job? I'm moving to Oregon.

Please elect me into some office so I can be paid to be a dumba$$.

There’s nothing that aggravates me more than when someone constructs a poorly thought out downright foolish piece of legislation to real problems. We have a limited amount of fossil fuels. The smart thing would be to use them where really advantageous and save the rest as much as possible for the future. Use other sources of energy wherever possible and practical.

If there were electric powered buses past my house that went to the grocery store I might take them instead of driving my 2003 Duramax diesel. I do need the truck to go to the elevator for feed but not to carry a bag of groceries.

Banning the sale of diesel as a solution is just silly. I suppose bringing it up might have the effect of promoting discussion of other solutions. In the meantime it just destroys credibility.

"partial zero" - wtf is "partial zero"? That doesn't make sense either mathematically OR grammatically.

And all of you that are burning wood to heat your homes need to stop!!! You are tree killers and all that pollution that comes out of your unregulated chimneys must stop!!
Actually, that's kinda what's being suggested and promoted lately - although they're pushing wood pellets.

An aside: A couple weeks ago I saw some "green travel" show where the host was visiting a third-world country and the guy he was visiting was cooking with dung. The host was gushing about how great that was, reusing the dung like that. Totally clueless about the reality being lived out right in front of him.

Sorry, you're not qualified. You have too much sense.

More over educated idiots here me tinks. It goes right back to what dear old dad said 35 years ago. "There is just too much food in this country, if they were hungry they would not worry about it."

You can't fix stupid and worse yet it breeds.
Yeah, but ignorance and stupidity were considered factors in Darwin's Theory of Selectivity. It doesn't state that the one with the biggest muscles will survive, but the "FITTEST" will. Give the dopeheads time, the state will implode.

But will there be enough to rebuild? These kids that are coming of age now are so miseducated naive lost sheep that things look bad for the future. But they sure do think they know everything.

The "zero" in PZEV applies to evaporative emissions.

From:

PZEVs are designed with these key characteristics:
  • Their fuel systems produce no evaporative emissions.
  • They meet super ultra-low emissions vehicle (SULEV) tailpipe emissions standards.

You indicate they may be suffering from recto-cranial inversion.

There's a few, at least. My son pretty much only hangs around with that sort. They all pretty much live "out here".

A common theme in classic SF was "what happens when nobody knows how to fix things?" I'm starting to see that now - too much dependence on the computers and technology, and less people with a good understanding how they work. Yeah, plenty of people who can "fix" stuff, as long as all the technology is working - but understanding the underlying technology that supports it all? Not so much.

I think this is dumber than the legalizing of all the illegal drugs in Oregon. Lots of diesels traveling up and down I-5. Take back your state Oregon
Bronc71, you may have just stumbled upon the reason why such a proposal came about to begin with!

Edit: I see Darren Todd and I think in a similar fashion! :D
