Tractor seat lift winch wiring advice

I am installing a more robust winch solenoid to control my seat lift winch.
My question is this. As I do NOT want the control switch for the winch to be keyed can I simply attach the red wire from the control switch to the positive hot side of the new solenoid? I have a arrow pointing to the terminal that is hooked direct to the positive side of the battery. The instructions that came with the new solenoid suggests connecting the red wire from the control switch to a keyed 12volt source.

Sorry, I should have made it more clear. Its a lift that I fabricated to get up on the tractor from my wheelchair. I have used it for a year, but unhappy with the winch solenoid and control switch that came with the winch.
I prefer that I have power at winch regardless of the ignition key being in or out.

And your solution is fine - the winch is still controlled by you correct? A momentary on switch? SO once you let go of the switch, no current is flowing?

If those statements are true - you should be in good shape! I am gonna assume there is a fuse somewhere in this circuit?

Thanks! It has worked out well for me.

Yes, the winch is controlled by me with a momentary rocker switch. I do have a 50 amp circuit breaker inline that was supplied with the original winch wiring .

Would your recommendation be to wire the 50amp breaker on battery side of the new solenoid or winch side of the new solenoid? The original winch solenoid sat in a plastic box strapped to the winch motor so the 50 amp breaker was between the battery and solenoid. In my new installation I plan on installing the new solenoid close to the battery , under neath the hood. (L2501)

Red goes to circuit breaker then +ve of battery, blk to -ve of battery, yel-blu to winch. So 'live' power at the relay 24/7.
That's how I wired the winch for the riderblower lift.
Now the 'up/dn buttons can either be powered live or 'switched ' , depends on your access.
