Nice machine. That price seems ridiculously low though. I would be all over that if it was legitimate and in my area.

Thats not a bad way to look at it and may help with convincing my better half!! ;0)The way to think about it is you're just borrowing it. When it comes time to sell it you get a lot of your money back, the actual yearly depreciation isn't that bad. Sure, you have money tied up all that time, but it's not like a car where many of them are worth almost nothing when you're done with them.
That thing THROWS some snow! Budget... hmmm. I'm not sure what my budget is either. I have a kid graduating college and getting married this summer, so my budget will be BETTER SOON!!We have 10 acres as well and used a plow truck for the first few years. Our issue was we have large areas that needed to be kept open as we have horses and use wood and our barn needs to be open on both ends. Most of the blowers I’ve used wouldn’t throw snow far enough before having it build up. You can only have it build up on itself so many times before it becomes too much snow to move. We have needed a tractor for awhile and ended up getting a L4240. It also came a with front mount blower that really does a nice job. This one throws the snow plenty far and I only hit the same snow once across our widest cleared areas. The cab is also amazing. I usually just wear a t shirt. I’m not sure what your budget is, but as said, these tractors really don’t loose their value. We also went to the grandL series for tractor weight. We move round bales around and they can get pretty heavy when green.
Usually with Kubota the 42 is HP, the L and the 40 at the end indicate the model. So, if you have an L4240, it's an L size chassis, 42 HP, and series 40. The series can tell you what generation/age the tractor is with the BX for example there was BX2350, then BX2360, BX2370, BX2380. The increasing number indicated new generations. But sometimes it indicates an economy model v's a deluxe model - so in the L series the 40 is a "grand L", where the 01 models are "economy L". The grand L has a much nicer transmission and a bunch of other features. Apparently Kubota's marketing department don't feel the need for their numbering to make sense. That thing THROWS some snow! 4240... 40 hp? Do you guys have a good thread sorta explaining all the different model numbers? Whats the 42, whats the 40? STuff like that?
Thanks!
Seems like the scams are just constant, I called and left a VM recently to an ad, it had a local area code number. Eventually the widow who had moved south got back to me after texting and asking for my email. She explained that Ebay was managing the sale and sent me a very realistic looking invoice that was supposedly through Ebay. I know all about the scam but them are so smooth and it all looks so real. It makes you wonder how much of peoples hard earned money they run off with. BUYERS BEWAREGood points. The price is just too good.
Isn't it terrible. If I was super rich I'd hire guys, like ex seals or whatever... MMA fighters, to just go find these scammers and teach them a little lesson. I also probably would be driving the most deluxe Kubota ever crafted... :0)Seems like the scams are just constant, I called and left a VM recently to an ad, it had a local area code number.
