I installed a LA853 front loader on my L5030HSTC tractor. My problem is when I go to lower the bucket by pushing lightly on the joystick the bucket goes UP! If I push the joystick HARD it will go down but not at the speed I might need depending on job I'm doing. And by having to push hard on the joystick I get a big bounce/jerk which shakes the tractor. Any ideas out there?

This problem and the other problem of the lines not being right tells me you might not have the input and output lines hooked up correctly, or there is a problem with the valve.

Can you post a picture of the Valve and the lines and where they go?

You have to get me a picture of the valve, as there are several different model valves that they used and ever one of them hooks up differently.

Thanks to both of you. I have to be on the road for the month of June. If I have time I will try to get pictures tomorrow, but if I can't get them I will send you some when I get back in early July.

Hear are some pictures of what I have. When I went out to take these I noticed that I have two different models. The "red" block came with the tractor and snow blower when I bought it new in 2004. The other block came with the loader and is the type installed on tractors without a cab. My tractor has the factory cab. The way the QD's are attached in these photos everything works correct except when I push the stick forward the bucket goes up. The only way the bucket can be lowered is by pushing the stick into the float position. If I connect the QD's color to color(red to red, etc.) Moving the stick side to side the bucket goes up and down and moving the stick front to back the bucket dumps and rolls.

Ok the valve that is not on the tractor right now is a new style L2213A Valve.
The Valve on the tractor is a L2223A Valve.
If you notice VIA the color caps they are the exact opposite hook up.

What you need to make sure of is that the feed lines are right as one valve is the opposite of the other.
ALSO before you get too far swap the QC line so the colors match back on the loader valve.

On my print don't worry about colors not matching yours, just match locations and routing.

On this routing there is only a difference in the location of the 2 front connections, each valve (L2213A compared to the L2223A) is the opposite and the rear connection is the same for both.

So, Wolfman, if I leave the 23A on the tractor and change the hose's to make the loader work do I have to change the hose's back when I put my snow blower back on this fall? Hopefully your answer is going to be No!! :D

Just wanted to let all of you that I finally got my loader to work. Turned out the control cables were way out of adjustment. That was why when I tried to lower the boom the cable was not "fully" engaged so it was trying to raise and lower at the same time and the up motion won out. Thanks to all who gave me input, it was greatly appreciated.

Have you ever seen an issue with the LA853 and L2223A where the bucket won't tilt? Short story pushing snow had a hard stop. Bucket is now limp. Pulled the hoses and have pressure both lines vs one pushing one return. With out pressure the bucket will follow the cylinders up, So I don't think they are damaged.

There is a reported problem with the bucket position and damage to the piston rods bending if you hit something (as it seems that you did).

I’ll see if I can locate any threads and link them here.

I did....sudden stop. Are the piston rods in the L2223A control valve? Thanks for any advice before I take it in to the shop

The rods that are in the cylinders that move the arms and bucket.
