I was trying to see if my roadshock lights were operational and ran into a problem. Let me continue, I was using my jump starter and hooked up my wiring loom to the jump starter and whenever I pressed the switch, my jump starter instantly went to the symbol that says there is a reversed politary issue. I even reversed the cables to no avail. Any help in diagonoising this issue would be appreciated.

I'm not sure I understand. Were you using your jump starter to power the lights before or after installation? Is the wiring loom what you're calling the roadshock light harness? If you are only using the jump starter on the standalone harness its electronics may be confused by trying to power the solid state components of the lighting. Your jump starter may wish to see more of a resistive load. It has a logic board, too. Try powering your lighting from your tractor or from a plain old fashioned battery - observing polarity, of course.

Just make sure there's a fuse in that circuit before you go hot-wiring to a battery, preferably the smallest possible fuse that will allow the light bars to illuminate. You could be in for a very nasty and extremely dangerous surprise if you connect a lead-acid battery to a short circuit.

It might also help if you posted a picture of your wiring diagram as well as photos of your actual wiring connections.

Maybe when you plugged the light wires into the harness wires you were able to plug them in backwards.

Jump starter applies extra power to an existing battery - it's checking for correct battery connection before applying power. You need a real battery to test you lights. LED's are like 1 way valves - will not light up if connected with reverse polarity.

If you plan to create your own electrical system vs tap into factory wiring this may help.

thanks for all the responsees, lots of ideas..I think I will just make a set of jumpers and connect to the battery to test them.. Again, thanks for all the replies, info
