I found this...
might help with parts ??
It'd be nice if you COULD take to Princess Auto but....remove the old bearing, clean it up, look for a number on the side of the bearing, take some dimensions( ID, OD, W),post pictures if you can, I've replaced shouldered bearsing with regularones and washer 'shims' on blowers in the past.

found this as well...
it's got sizes !!!

Yes I may try a princess auto or somewhere like that. Problem with it is that there's not much left of the bearing. Right now I am having a problem trying to get the sprocket off. There are 2 set screws, I got one out, the other one was totally rounded out so I am having a difficult time getting that off. Going to try some heat tomorrow and a screw extractor see how it works. I will definitely need the bearing and the housing for it. According to the diagram I was looking at, the bearing and housing I need are the same as the one used on the top shaft, so I see if I can get a number off of that. I will take some pictures tomorrow, forgot my phone today:unsure: Thinking of everything I need and forgot it. Thanks for all your information and assistance

Thanks... I first saw the partstree site, however they have suspended all shipping to Canada because of pandemic, so has the other one. The only one I can find that says they will ship to Canada is SEPW ( Small Engine Parts Warehouse). Good to see Jacks has bearing size :). I think the housing is destroyed also, won't know until I get the set screw out of the sprocket. Going to try a removal tool today and apply some heat to it. The previous owner was terrible with wrenches, most bolts / nuts are pretty much stripped ... use the right sized wench already !!

Well... I think I'm at a stop. I can't get the sprocket off. The set screw is rounded, I tried a screw extractor with no luck. I have drilled the set screw out and still can't get the sprocket to budge. Actually broke my puller trying. I applied lots of heat all around and used tthe puller but its a no-go. Don't know whats next ?

Can you post a picture of what your working on. Like most things that have been together forever they don't come apart easily. Use lots of quality penetrating fluid and give it time to soak in.

When I have an impossible set screw like that, I use a Dremel tool with thin abrasive disc, cutting a deep slot in the middle of the screw, oriented perpendicular to the shaft. Once down through the set screw, use a sharpened punch to collapse the two halves inward and dig them out. Not pretty, but usually works.

hmm, any chance there's a SECOND setscrew 90* from the 1st one ?? Sometimes there's one lined up with the key ,and another one 'just for fun'......
If possible, grab a pipe, ID just bigger than shaft, OD rests on sprocket hub face, whack the end of the pipe 1,2 times. It may move the sprocket towards the housing, a bit. The may be able to pull it off.
I've used steel plates between housing and sprocket and a 'pickle fork' for Princess to push the sprocket off the shaft. It might take some time to bodge something that'll move the sprocket. The setcrew mushes the key and binds up everything.....
It's probably a #40 sprocket,so count the teeth, worse case you can buy one from Princess with a matching adapter(BTDT).just got next weeks flyer today !

I just returned from looking at my blower and I was mistaken with the model number. It is a Massey Ferguson MF751.

After reading your last post I went and looked at my original sprocket. I replaced it when I attached the blower to my tractor so as to be more suitable to the rpm of my mid pto and to also lower the drive sprocket so that the drive shaft would easily clear under the front axle of the tractor.

I also broke a puller trying to remove it so I drilled three holes through the sprocket just outside of the edge of the center hub. These were then tapped to accommodate a 5/16" bolt. I then installed three 5/16" bolts in the holes and forced them against the back of the blower housing. I might have used spacer plates here so as not to put dents in the thinner blower housing. The sprocket came off easily as I worked my way going from one bolt to the other. That set screw is only going against the keyway so should not cause much resistance. My sprocket is 8" in diameter. Hub has a 1-1/4" shaft with a 1/4" set screw.

All my sprocket components I bought at Princess Auto.

The hub on my sprocket did have a second set screw hole but without a setscrew. Even after I removed my one setscrew the sprocket was still seized onto the shaft.

Sorry, I meant to post pictures but was a bit frustrated and forgot. I have posted them below. There are two set screws on the sprocket, they are both recessed about a half inch or so inside. One came out with penatrating oil and the head wasn't rounded, the other that presses against the keyway is rounded and the problem one. I tried a screw extractor and didn't work so finally drilled it out.

I applied lots of heat and used a three jaw puller. Tried that a few times until my puller broke and I ran out of oxygen( both me and the torch tank 😫 ). Going in to swap oxygen tank this morning. Thinking of getting a hydralic puller, seeing as its a tool I use and need to replace it anyway.

Once I get this off and can get into a Princess Auto( pandemic lockdown) I will see if they have something there that will work to replace it. We are set to reopen next week but the Princess Auto is 1 3/4 hours from me so hopefully they reopen too and I can get in the store. I can order the hydralic puller from Amazon...

Your sprocket is certainly smaller than my original. It almost looks like someone might have hammered on the end of the shaft causing it to swell. If that is the case you might have to try to push the hub farther onto the shaft and file the edge to true it up to allow the hub to be removed. With the bearing destroyed you almost have to use a puller so that the force is against the shaft. Otherwise you risk damaging the gear box as will any heavy hammering. Hope you do not have to cut it off in pieces with an angle grinder. If that is the case cut off one side of the sprocket even with the edge of the hub and then cut a slot in line and down to the shaft. Then drive a chisel into the slot to spread it and hopefully it will loosen up.

Get a big socket( to clear the key),short extention and a 4# hammer, whack(good ,solid ones) the extention twice, look and see if the sprocket has moved close to the housing. If so, file the end of the shaft as it does look mangled a bit. it don't take much to jam it up. Other trick.'somehow' leep the shaft from rotating, then use pipewrench to try to turn the sprocket in the OPPOSITE direction it normally goes. The idea is to get some freedom between sprocket, key and keyway. You need to 'freeup' the mess.....
Using a more powerful puller may not work, especilally if the shaft is mushroomed.
yes, this is a PITA job..best done in a warm garage, lots of light, tons of tools and MUSIC !

I hope it doesn't come to cutting it off...we will see. The top of he shaft had been smacked by the looks of it. I tried to file around it to take off any mushroom affect but, may have to go at it again. I ordered a new puller and got my oxygen cylinder this morning. I will give the suggestions mentioned a try and see what happens. Got some penetrating fluid sitting on it right now. Will give it some time then go at it again. Its going to take a few days to get the puller in, I will post again when I get back at it. Thanks for all the help and suggestions.. it is appreciated.

When you drilled the set screw out did you stop when you hit the keyway?
Knocking the sprocket back on to the shaft deeper, like Greensvillejay suggested would help free it up and allow you to clean up the end of the shaft.

Have done so many bearing jobs for work and the advise your getting on driving the sprocket down is excellent. You only need to break the initial bond between the shaft and sprocket and then it will move. As mentioned make sure the shaft end is not mushroomed. Keep at it, you will win the fight,
