I was pulling the MX5400 into the shop yesterday and came within inches of running the FEL toothbar down the side of my ZD326 zero turn. The MX5400 is noticeably larger than the L3901 it replaced. I've had several close calls while I'm getting used to the larger tractor.

Well neither ended up burnt to the ground. Gotta chalk that up as a win.

My sons were on a camping trip at my land in Nelson County Va. on the Tye river. Used the tractor to transport supplies to the river for fishing and fun. It caught fire!!! A quick thinker dumped the beer out of their cooler and retrieved water from the river to throw on it. I think it was a wrens nest on the exhaust. Just a quick wire splice and a semi melted sticker and all was good.

At least they were smart and saved the beer. Glad it ended up ok.

It is not worth a picture, but I turned the head of my brand new, like a few weeks old "hard" hand rake (garden rake?) into a pretzel sculpture two days ago. Fortunately the handle is OK.
I pretzeled a rake head with the tractor too. Backed over it laying in the grass. Have a spare rake, so haven't tried to straighten it yet.

For those who complain about the r4 tires..... the machine didn’t stop moving. The only reason I knew the clay was building up like that was when it jammed up my 3pt lever. So I looked down to see why it wasn’t moving, The clay was being pushed up through the slot in the fender. took me almost 3 hrs to clean the machine. Also spent a bunch of money on top soil to sort out that part of the yard

I had a fantabulous day snowblowing. Managed to put a nice orange streak on the corner of my pole barn. Then another orange streak on the garage door (attached to the house this time, not pole barn). Then I managed to rip an outlet off of the wall by the basement door by setting the snowblower on top of it. I guess I was being greedy after the big snow. I REALLY hate shoveling. Should have learned my lesson after the first incident, but I guess I'm not so bright.

Holy crap, this thread is scary. How are you guys in a truck out on the road?

I got rid of my last tractor with about 4000 hours on it, the tractor never got a dent.

The worst it ever saw was when I bent the 3pt swing bar backing the rake into a tree.

SFSG with the new one.

I wish you continued luck with your new tractor. I remember seeing a post some time back where the member was speculating on whether to get the first dent out of the way and move on. I think that if we are all using new tools that there is a learning curve and sharing that experience helps at least one person somewhere.

Reminds me of the old motorcycle adage:

There are two types of motorcycle riders: Those who have dropped the bike, and those who haven't - YET.

I had my B7800 all of 5 minutes when I tried to pull it into the garage and heard this awful crashing sound. Yup, roll bar ripped the garage door completely off the tracks.
To this day I am always looking up to make sure of the clearance incase the door isn't all the way up.

Buck
My Uncle in Law got a brand new BX and while storing it in his house garage the ROPs hit the the top of the door opening. Did not touch the actual door.... as it did not get that far in. but what it did do was dislodge 4 courses of brick over the door. A couple gave the old fart a concussion and a total of about 25 stiches. He was more concerned about how the flying bricks screwed up his brand new tractor.

Did I mention he just did take delivery of the tractor and was getting it out of the rain.

Ooops. Let’s See Them! Is the subject for this thread?... apparently the pop-up advertisers who come here to hawk their goods took the Topic at face-value! Here’s what popped up at the top of this very page:

I never see ads either but if the one that Geohorn posted is visible without an ad blocker, I think it is highly inappropriate for a family oriented site.

Yep, it was a banner which appeared across the top of the page. I have attempted to block ads but this is what is displayed when ad-blocker is attempted:

Your Safari browser has default settings that currently interfere with how cookies work. This includes the opt-out cookies set by the WebChoices tool for participating companies. To set your choice preferences successfully through WebChoices while using Safari, please go to your device’s settings and tap the following Safari > Privacy & Security and uncheck "Prevent cross-site tracking." After you change this setting, come back to this page and run WebChoices again. If you turn that setting back on, it may remove your choices.”

I’m happy to receive suggestions on getting rid of the little ads which appear all over OTT.

EDIT: OK.... I’VE DOWNLOADED/ACTIVATED ADBLOCK plus. HOORAY! It looks like 99% of ads are gone now on OTT! Thank you guys for the suggestion!
