While clearing snow from our driveway, I was trying to scoop the piles by lifting and rolling back the bucket at the same time. It doesn't work, I can choose one or the other but not both. Is this normal?

Thanks
Dave

You should be able to. If you pull the loader joystick diagonally back towards you it should both lift and curl in.

yep, just have to find the "sweet spot" and be running enough rpms.

This came up a couple years ago with a person with a large tractor/loader.

Actually, Kubota FEL's are much more multi-functional than some other manufacturers.

That said, the lift/curl function is a little "finicky" on many of them from big to small....

Look at your loader's diagram of lever movements. The "7 O'Clock" section is blank for lift/curl.

Not to say it won't do it. What I notice is a small delay in action and have to move control a little....it's just that one spot...

Learn something new everyday. I know that mine will do it, I just never realized it was not indicated on the label.

Yep - - they do it. As dirty said - there's a sweet spot and can take a second with a little patience. I noticed it first with heavy loads of stone. It's more noticeable with a heavy load.

It's not debilitating, but it was noticeable to me. Just takes a little getting used to.

Again - - other FEL's can't multi-function as well as Kubotas.

If I remember right - - the fellow that brought it up a while back had an 1xxx loader on a big tractor, and it was the same as my little BX...

Thanks everyone. I must be missing the sweet spot. Funny that it operates this way because the manual specifically states to roll and lift at the same time to scoop material!

Funny...two motions at once with my loader is so natural to me that I do not even know how I make it happen.

BUT I think, when lifting, if I want to curl, I just mover the lever to the left or right, and it happens, either curl up or curl down.

Can not remember which way does what. It just works without thinking after 18 years...

On most of the smaller tractors they only have enough hydraulic flow to do one function at a time. You can do 2 but at limited power and speed.

Now like my M9000 for example. I can say work the 3pt and one remote or both remotes at the same time under full flow to either function but it has 17gpm hyd flow rating.

My B2910 is on the small side I think. Two functions on the loader has never been an issue. Can’t speak on the BX size though.

M9000 is in a different category for sure.
