I have a KX040-4 mini excavator and some of the lower truck rollers are beginning to leak. I looked at the parts schematic and it shows a plug which leads me to believe I can rebuild it. I have a couple questions/requests...1) Can these be rebuilt instead of replaced? and 2) if possible to rebuild, is it better to rebuild or buy a new roller assembly and replace the leaking one? Any guidance/insight/wisdom is appreciated.

Can they be repaired ? Yes
Is it cost effective to repair them? That depends on what needs to be replaced.
If just seals then yes It could be done but if the shaft and bushings are worn causing he leak it makes less sense. You wont know how bad they are until you have it apart unless there is visible play in the roller.

It used to be a profitable business repairing undercarriage components but labor costs have pretty much killed that industry. Cheaper now to just have new components manufactured offshore.
