Today in Michigan 01/27/21, 30DegF I decided to start my 2018 B2650 and let it idle and heat up. The fuel system does have Stabal for Diesel, properly mixed. Started fine, idled fine, 5-7minutes, coolant temp was at first mark. Stopped...tried turning the key, nothing. It was though I left the mower engaged or an interlock was engaged preventing the engine from turning over, dash board was normal also, no error codes or alarms. I removed the fuel filter and cleaned everything. Started and idled for 1 minute, again shutdown, would not turn over. Do I have bad gas?

Bad GAS? naw ...... I don't think so!

I bet either a safety switch in the cold is a problem somehow or the fuel solenoid is malfunctioning.

Does is cough and spit as it shuts down? OR like a key is turned off?

I hope not-bad gasoline....

‘Hokie’s question is important. Can mean the difference between an electrical/safety switch issue versus a fuel problem (although the two can be intertwined).

I would look at the fuel solenoid, i think that the starter circuit also runs through it which is why there is no crank. also look at all the safety switches especially the on under the floor board that is connected to the forward/ reverse pedal

I’ll check all the safety switches. My gut thinks it’s the for/rev pedal. Thanks everyone!

Odds are it is the HST switch. It happened to mine and was intermittent and tough to diagnose even with multi meter following the WSM. Replaced and has been fine. Has happened to numerous other members on here also.

It happens on mine pretty regular. I just move the pedal forward/back (to be sure it is in the middle/centered).

For me, when it happens, the tractor starts for a second or so and then stalls.
